Kelly Green Hicks (kelly's bookish world) October is coming to a close! I can't believe that this year's book challenge is coming to an end! I suppose we had better put up our choices for November.

-A book you learned about through this challenge

-A book with pictures

-A book with food as a central theme

-A book you're thankful for having read. Read it again!

Kelly Green Hicks (kelly's bookish world) -A book you learned about through this challenge: One Plus One by Jojo Moyes. Selection from the awesome Nikki Johnson! 11/24/16

-A book with pictures: I have several picked out to read! ;): Sidewalk Flowers by JonArno Lawson 11/1/16

-A book with food as a central theme: Christmas Caramel Murder by Joanne Fluke. Always nice when I can fit one of my series authors in a category! ;) 11/30/16

A book you're thankful for having read. Read it again! :Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. Read these with my kids when they were growing up. :) 11/18/16

Nikki Johnson How are we defining book with pictures? Cause I read one of those to preschoolers daily.

Nikki Johnson Aww, thanks for the shout out, Kelly.

Kelly Green Hicks (kelly's bookish world) Nikki, it could be a picture book, graphic novel, or even one of the new 10th anniversary Harry Potter books! ;) I am reading one that is solely pictures and no words.

Does a book about cannibals count as a food book?

Sara Kreps 2. A fine romance.
3. Thinner.
4. Neverending story.
1. Eyes of the dragon.

Katie O’Reilly I've read 2 so far:

A Book With Pictures: Sita's Ramayana (graphic novel retelling the Hindu epic Ramayana from the perspective of the suffering wife Sita)

A Book I'm Thankful for Reading: Leave it to Psmith by P.G. Wodehouse. Great for attempting to soothe post-election anxiety!

Katie O’Reilly Probably going to use The Android's Dream by Frank Scalzi (funny sci-fi) as my Book With Food As Central Theme because sheep are a major part of the book. Close enough, eh?

Nikki Johnson 1. Last Stop on Market Street (Thx to Gina-saw this in her list earlier in the year. Also helps me juke my year-end numbers).
2. Stitches by David Small--really powerful story in graphic novel format.
3. Lizzy and Jane by Katherine Reay-I don't always find Christian fiction to be a satisfying read, but this one was. And a good foodie book too.
4. ?? Unsure if I'll commit to this one yet. So many new ones to read. Not sure I have a childhood fav I want to reread right now.

Nikki Johnson 4. Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret by Judy Blume. Somehow I had forgotten this was about religious exploration and not just puberty.

1, Picture Book: Wytches, Volume 1 (Adequately disturbing horror graphic novel)

2. Food Book Pete the Cat and the Missing Cupcakes (Pete craves cupcakes, loses cupcakes, probably engages in quasi-legal substances, and solves the mystery of who takes his cupcakes. Riveting!)

3. Thankful Book Nothing Lasts Forever (The book that gave us Die Hard: the Citizen Kane of Die Hard movies. For this, I am thankful.)

4. Book Learned from Challenge A Man Called Ove (Sunday book club lean fill in, and a book about my spirit animal: a grumpy old man.)

I think I'll need to follow your lead on the food book since my second choice (chose Gummi Bears Should Not Be Organic since I didn't feel up to two King books in a month) isn't actually about food.

3 is bad kitty does not liked candy.
Month complete.

Nikki Johnson Paul-I can't believe our Sunday Bookclub influenced one of your choices!! Guess your next graphic tee might need to be 'grumpy old man.'

Lovin' all the children's book selection jukes too. We gotta get our choices in somehow. :)
