"You know you're an idiot, right?" Vada sighed in exasperation and amusement as she stood watching her large dragon, arms crossed. *I am a dragon. Dragons are graceful and wise. You're a clumsy, stupid human. And you're calling me an idiot?* Zelroth sniffed. How anyone could manage to sound so haughty and disdainful even while their head was stuck in the fork of a tree trunk was beyond Vada. But she knew he wasn't truly angry at her. He was so funny when he was embarrassed.
"Says the one with their head in a tree." she said dryly, struggling to hide her laughter. He responded with a disdainful sniff that usually only super rich people could pull off when talking to peasants. "You could always drop the freakin' deer you know." she pointed out, nodding to the dead creature trapped in his jaws. He had lunged his head through the fork in the trunk to get the deer, but now his widened jaws wouldn't fit back through.
*No way! I earned this kill. I will not let it go for a second; some scavenger may swoop down on it.* Zelroth said, as if scavengers were abominations.
"I can watch it for you." The girl suggested.
*Just what I said would happen! Scavengers!* The dragon accused in scandalized tones. Vada knew he didn't really consider her a scavenger- Z got snappish when he was unsure what to do or embarrassed. Well, he was always snappish. But these times were the only ones he lashed out at Vada, and she ha learned to not take it personally.
Anya grumbled, trudging through the muck and mire. Ro'Daar had definitely found it funny to fly ahead without her, and leave her in the mud... he was definitely going to be first in line when she returned to the academy, pointing his talon and laughing dryly. She slipped and cursed... again, her clothes already stained with earth.
Lousie walked through the jungle, rage ran through her veins. Her dragon was no where to be seen. But she could hear him. Stupid human, He spat. Louise, aided by her anger, wielded her katana slashing though the bark of some near by trees.
It was only a few minutes ago that she was practicing flight with her aggressive dragon, Skywalker, when he became inpatient with her flight tactics and threw her off. Mud and scratches littered her arms and exposed skin when she fell down to earth, landing in the jungle. But her dragon didn't get free so easily. At the last second, she grabbed onto the bottom of his wing and yanked on it as she defended to the ground, throwing off his balance he careened to the ground like a damaged helicopter. Louise trudged through the muck with anger and her body some what sore.
Anya pulled herself up, gripping a tree. Footing was precarious here, and every step threatened to launch her even deeper into the mire. Carefully, she stepped out, arms outstretched for balance, and started out again. Her own abandonment had been quite similar, for the most part. Except that her dragon had turned upside down and scraped his huge back against the trees, dropping her. Maybe he'd been so large that he'd forgotten he had an ant sized rider up on his back. More likely, he was being a mischievous sod. She thought she heard squelching nearby, and true to being educated by every horror novel ever, she froze to listen, her hand on the hilt of her weapon.
Louise stepped out of the mud, panting hard she used a nearby tree for support. Her chest rose and fell rapidly and she fought for control over her breathing. After a few deep breathes, she looked up and found a girl nearby. Louise went still.
She heard the heavy breathing and turned about, to face this girl. "Oh, hello. What are you doing this deep in the swamp?" Like she could ask that, plated in the swamp's filth as she was.
She raised her eyebrows. "Dragon problems?" she asked, miroring her own predicament, just to check. Dragons could be gigantic pains.
Lousie narrowed her eyes, "Dragons," She echoed. "Dragons are never the problem," Her response seemed defensive.
Anya chuckled. "That sounds oddly idealistic. My first bond wanted to destroy all human pestilence and murdered the welcoming committee on my 18th birthday." She shrugged it off. "But yes. Dragons can never be problematic and are always sweet, considerate, and amiable." Sarcasm dripped from her lips.
"Exactly," She agreed, not aware the girl meant it sarcastically. Louise had never had anything bad to let slip through her lips about a dragon. "Where is your companion?" Louise asked.
"Scraped me off his back and flew off," she said, shortly, not aware how anyone could possibly miss the sarcasm.
"Hmm," Lousie said. She turned around and picked up her bladed katana and stuck it in her back pocket.
"Has it ever occurred to you, your dragon may have done it purposely?" Louise asked her back to the girl.
"You think?" she raised her eyebrows. Oh yeah, Anya knew Ro'Daar. She knew him for the absolute stinker that he was.
Aurora nodded her head, "Your dragon is displeased by you," The metal of her katana's was heard as she scrapped their blades together.
"Why would I kid about something like this?" Louise turned around, confusion written upon her face. Just as she opened her mouth to speak, a loud roar sounded from above.
The tree tops were to dense to see what dragon it was. "The tops should really be trimmed," Louise said alound looking up.
The dragon from above parted his jaws and let loose fire that burned the tree tops above. Soon a red head with a grey neck, peered through the new opening.
"Or you could always just do that," Louise said, looking up at her dragon.

"Dragons, you think, are all perfectly... holy?" she asked, ignoring the roar, because she was already covered in mud to hide her stench, and the canopy provided sufficient cover. Then the canopy burst into flames. "Well, then," she shrugged, looking startled at first, before realizing these two must be bonded.
"oh, no definitely not," Louise smirked. Loused kneeled slightly to pick up a small rock beside her, her eyes glued up above. She held it firmly in her hand and stretched her arm back, brought it close to her shoulder and then threw it up at her dragon. It caught him square on his nose and he let out a miniature roar. He narrowed his eyes and growled viciously.
((He's cool.))
"Are you bonded, or should I defend us?" she asked, drawing her weapon. She was used to the good and to the bad. And she had scarring experiences with both.

"I'd say, defend yourself," She said before leaping out of the way, as he plunged his massive head into the jungle, his nostril hitting the ground with such force it knocked the girl over. The dragon let out a deep growl and opened his eyes. He caught sight of the girl who had drawn her weapons.
Anya took the knowledge as a command to slay, and boy... did she have experience with slaying. She darted forwards, her bond with Ro'Daar making her immune to the strongest fire, and Anya trusted in her skill to keep the Dragon's claws from scathing her.
The look within his large eye told Lousie everything she needed to know. Her eyes widened and he began to turn his head in the other direction, towards Anya. Louise shot forward and shoved Anya out of the way, Just as her dragons head shot towards her. It seemed as though it was slow motion, where Louise saw her dragons neck above them, his head past them to where Anya would have remained standing had it not been for Louises quick thinking.
Anya had been about to rip onto the head and swing herself up, so she could ram the blade into the weak patch of skin at the back of his neck. She would have, too. She wasn't stupid. She fell to the ground, loosing the air in her lungs. "What's your problem!?"
Louise grabbed the weapon from Anya and chucked it far far away. "He doesnt die easy, people do. i just saved your life." She shoved her roughly and turned back to the dragon. She gave it a sharp kick in the nostril and he flew off.

She spat, pushing herself out of the mud. "Dragons die easier than me," she grumbled, face dark. She retrieved her weapon, wiping it on her already filthy leg before sheathing it. She'd really need to clean every inch of her and her things when she escaped this mire. "That's no way to treat a dragon, kicking it in the nose like that. They're sentient."
"Says the girl who doesnt hesitate to kill them?" Louise whirled around. "And thats us, hes aggressive, im aggressive, tjats how we work. I have to keep him in line if I want everyone to live to see the sun," Louise informed her.
