Aleyne moved hesitantly into the classroom, bag dangling by her side and her long hair tumbling loosely around her shoulders. Despite the rather catastrophic events throughout the day, it was surprisingly tangle free, and glistened down her shoulders. Letting the grand doors shut behind her with a resounding thud, she glanced around the room.
Weiss sat by the window, briefly in a pain-filled state, before he heard the door close and his defenses went up instantly. "Oh. You."You, in his mind, was her name, until he decided otherwise. After all, he didn't want her to get close to him. If she did, he didn't know what would happen.
Aleyne walked across the room in silence, taking a seat facing him. Sunlight poured in from the open window on the right, streaming across the desk in front and causing the strands of woven desk to dully glint. She let the bag slide from her shoulder, and propped her chin up with her interlinked hands, looking across at him.
After a few moments she replied. "Yeah, me."
"Is there a reason for your constant presence?" Weiss asked, sighing and closing his violet eyes. He was tired. Not physically, but mentally. He wasn't alone for long enough to vent, either, and he wanted to. He really, truthfully wanted to. He was tired of keeping up the walls, of repressing everything for so long.
Aleyne again allowed a few moments to pass before responding, she picked her words carefully, not wanting to scare him off as she had done in their past meetings. "You make me feel less alone," she admitted, her voice a mere shadow now. "-and I made a promise. I'm not going anywhere until you need me to leave, not just want me to." She added the last bit with a reluctance, understanding that he may react negatively to being chased around all the time. She wasn't going to stop though, his bond had seemed to think he was hurting somehow. In a way company would keep at bay. She owed her life to him now.
"I what?!" Weiss asked, surprised. Such emotion was shocking, and it even took his hate a moment to catch up. "Well. We wouldn't want you to feel alone, now would we?" he asked spitefully. His heart wasn't in it, though. He was thinking about that day. It was the anniversary of that, and he was too busy thinking about it. Too busy to recognize her enough to be cruelly wicked.
Aleyne looked away, the words glancing off her. It wasn't that she didn't care, more that she was past caring about such things. "Why are you so afraid-angry, of everyone and everything?" She asked gently, her eyes turned towards the sunlight. It caught against them, revealing a sapphire hurricane, trapped within the dark lining of her irises. She blinked, and pulled away from the light. The effect diminished into cooling pools of darkness.
"I'm not afraid of anything," Weiss lied, sighing. "I'm just an angry person," he replied, shrugging. If he lied to himself enough, maybe it'd be true.
"Yeah, sure you are. Because angry people are always angry for no reason. Quit lying to me Weiss. Tell me the truth for once." Aleyne snapped, cutting out the lingering words he left lying in the air.
"I've told you the truth many times. Such as my disgust towards you, your uselessness, and my hatred of people who stick their nose where it doesn't belong," Weiss replied, stubborn. It wouldn't be as easy as that.
Aleyne almost growled, she doubted he could be any more irritating than he was now. "Well then," she retorted getting to her feet and grabbing her bag. She was tired of the verbal abuse, tired of his face, of his drawling voice. She may of his bond a debt, but It didn't mean she had to constantly put herseld through this sort of torchur to appease that. "Thanks for alienating the one person in this whole place who was willing to put up with you," with that she turned and strode to the door.
"That was the goal," Weiss replied, sighing. It hurt to do that, but he could handle it. He was simply afraid of losing someone, so the instant they reached out, he slapped their hand away. It was how his world worked.
"What do you mean, that was the goal?" Aleyne demanded furiously, spinning to glare over at him. "Do you enjoy your self inflicted, pitty party? I know what happened to you. I'm sorry for it too. However, if you think hiding out here, shying away from reality is going to make you any happier, you have a lot coming your way."
"I don't want happiness," Weiss said, shrugging. "I don't care if you know what happened. I just don't want to be close to anyone. Ever again," he added, looking out the window in silence. He didn't care if she left then or later, as long as she left.
Aleyne leaned against the door frame, her whole subconscious telling her to get the heck out of there. She stayed though, if only to enjoy a few more moments glaring at him. The thought suddenly occured to her, that she disliked him. A lot. Which only created a sort of hate fest, since he wasn't to keen on her either. His bond had said she wasn't asking him in the right way, yet, she'd tried every option but throwing herself at the window. He responded negitivly to kindness, anger, sarcasm, wit, strength, and friendliness. She's used every approach. Bits and peices of herself stuck out throught it as well, she wasn't pretending.
Maybe all that was left was to give him what he wanted. Maybe as she had said before, he needed her to leave. Aleyne would oblige him that then. She would move on. Just as everyone in his life eventually would, though she doubted their persistance.
Weiss looked out the window still, watching the peaceful and happy interaction of students. Something he'd forsaken, something he couldn't partake of. Something he feared. Maybe it was necessary, but, maybe it wasn't. He could live without it, right?
She waited there, without speaking trying to gauge which direction to take the internal battle inside her. "I'm going to town, do you want to come?" She finally asked without much feeling. She knew what his answer would be, but she felt like this was her last shot at things. Her last effort.
She was already half out the door when he replied, "wait, hold on, what?" She asked, her mouth nearly dropping open. For the first time since meeting him, she felt suddenly awkward and out of words. She didn't have a back up plan for that reaction. "We'll, uhm. Is your bond in class?" She followed up, wondering where Kazul was. Last she heard, she had been in combat class again. She was working hard, despite being small. Aleyne was proud of her.
"Yes," Weiss said, getting to his feet. He didn't know what he was doing, but he was bored, and he didn't care where he was going, as long as he went.
"Do you ride?" Aleyne then asked him. For her, horses had become second nature after having her bond die. But for those with living dragons, she wasn't sure if they were accustomed to it.
"Yes," Weiss said, nodding. He knew many forms of getting to place to place. He owned a horse, once.
Gathering her wits, Aleyne tried to form a somewhat confidant reply to that. She was still in shock over him coming in the first place. She needed to think this over, a lot..."Well then, let's go." She straightened up, walking out into the hallway her skits whirling. She didn't look back to see if he was following her, but felt his gaze, hot and tingling, on the back of her neck.
((Should we do a time skip to the market? Since we have no stables...))
Weiss walked into the classroom, his fingers laced through Aleyne's, the only person in the academy that he genuinely cared for, someone he had intense feelings for, someone he respected and loved being around. Someone he wanted to be with for a long, long time.
Damon perked up slightly as a pair walked in, the man intimidating- the woman abnormally small. He eyed them from his slouch against the chair, his feet resting on the desk and his arms crossed. The comfort of Weiss's hand around hers felt empowering, she glanced up at his face as they walked in. Trying to discern what he was thinking. "Where do you want to sit?" She asked quietly, trying to keep her voice down.
"Anywhere's alright," Weiss said, brushing some purple hair out of his eye. He didn't care where they sat, especially since she was there.
Aleyne moved forward, edging through the seats with him in toe. She glanced up to see the only person in the class room, a rather shady looking young man, watching them keenly. She chose a seat, and let go of Weiss's hand, sitting down.
Weiss took a seat beside her, also noticing the man, although he didn't care much. If he wanted to make trouble, of course Weiss would oblige. Weiss was an expert when it came to fighting anyone. He didn't like being stared at, by anyone.
Aleyne looked over at Weiss, ignoring the fact that there was someone else in the room besides him. "Do you play an instrument?" she asked curiously, if not to fill the sudden tense silence in the room.Damon got too his feet, moving over to the two. "Haven't seen you guys around before," he said interrupting Aleyne. "New?"
"No," Weiss replied. "To both of you," Weiss said, leveling the same old cold glare at the guy. "I've been here for a long time," he added.
Aleyne glanced up as Weiss addressed the guy coming from the right, slightly startled at his presence. Up close, he was even more creepy than she first thought. With gaunt cheeks, black eyeliner, and glinting studs hanging at his ears."Well then, good for you." Damon replied with a smirk, ignoring the girl for the moment. It was the man he was interested in, he had the look. Just like the last two he had spoken with, this one could be useful. "You bonded?"
Damon shrugged, the the muscles beneath his arms easily visible under the thin material of his shirt. "Just a question," he replied silkily, his eyes picking apart the young man like a wolf before it devours his prey.A shiver went down Aleyne spine, and she glanced over at Weiss quickly. He looked fine for now, but she knew that could change within a blink of an eye. She had no idea what she would do if this turned into a fight, however, she certainly had no intention of playing the helpless romantic attraction.
Weiss gave off an aura of a snake, poised to strike at any moment. He didn't like the guy's attitude at all, and his sword hilts seemed pretty appealing at the moment. He was about ready to send the man to the infirmary for poisoning.
Poised to leap from her chair and interject any sudden attacks, Aleyne griped the edge of the table trying to keep still. From the way it stood, the man hadn't necessarily said anything wrong, yet there was something about the way he said it that sent shivers down your skin.Damon then turned his attention to Aleyne, though his stance still faced Weiss. "So, how'd someone like you end up with him?"
Weiss felt the attack, but brushed it off. She didn't have to answer, and if she did, he knew she'd be angry if he interjected.
"What are you implying?" Aleyne asked, a hint of condensation in her voice. She kept a firm gaze upon him, giving the impression of confidence way above her stature. Damon smirked, the unexpected prowess amusing him. Though she looked about as pathetic as a panda, she had some spark left. "You realize this is all a lie?" He said, changing tactics and gesturing to the room around them. "You think this is for your benefit? You're wrong. We're being shepherded here, babied until we are to dependent to feel the dagger pushing into our skin."
"So, you're too afraid of the dragons to try and coexist with them? I thought you looked like a coward," Weiss said, yawning.
Damon smirked, "coexisting is beside the point, I have my own bond just as you, though I find it somewhat repulsive. This is a conspiracy, and that's what it all comes down to. You either have the brains to figure that out, or I'll see your chewed up remains along some ally in the future."
"I've been with my bond since before this program. I doubt it," Weiss replied, shrugging. Violaceus didn't have it in him to be so cruel.
"You think that makes any difference to a creature who can surpass your life span by nearly triple the amount of years? You're going to die eventually. What will he do then?" Damon inquired, his tone icy.
"Piss on your grave, I'd hope," Weiss replied, yawning. This guy was trying to be cruel to the master of cruel.
Damon laughed at that, his eyes glinting sharply. Stepping back from the desk, he cocked an eyebrow slightly. "I'm pretty sure the IQ in here just dropped significantly. It's scary to think that people like you are allowed to breed." With that, he laughed again moving away from the desk and towards the door.
