There may be slight variations of the type of dragon. Most will be fire dragons, but if you want to have something different, run it by me so I can check to make sure it isn't too OP or just unbelievable.
All dragons achieve a ride-able size of 15 feet in their first year of life, and then grow slowly thereafter.
If you have a WIP charrie, message me or contact me when you're done so I can actually approve it!
Linearization, so if you're stuck with a slow RPer or if you're forgotten, you can continue later.
Oh, new question! I know that the humans get stuff from the dragons in this bond, but what do the dragons get out of it?
Which they were losing, and they got the smallest amount of land, and they get the least out of the buddy thing. Makes me think the dragons won't stand this for long. They are proud creatures.
Just want to make sure I've got this right: the war ended 1o years ago, yes? But then how long ago did it start?
Very good question! I'd say... Hmm... 13, since the dragons would have wiped out the humans had it been longer.
Did dragon-human bonds begin to occur only after the treaty, or was it common (or just only happened rarely, I guess) before the treaty too?
'Ello. Sandwich? Would you relay to Hakuna that if she can translate sandwich into another language and it sounds cool, I'll oblige. XD Or, actually, I'll make a baby dragon and nickname him Sandwich. How about that? He'll be super adorable ^_^
It's POSSIBLE. But you'd have to have a VERY mild mannered dragon that didn't eye a human as an insect and step on it, was willing to become best buddies, then go through the bond ceremony. The ceremony, however, is unknown to any but the creator of the academy.

The c..."Hey, Ilsa, about that... I sorta made a dragon who came far, far north and came from a clan of dragons who had some sort of contract of peace with the neighboring villages...
Is that okay?
We could always assume they were Canadians. xD Sorry, I had to.

The terms:
The dragons were to stay on the mountains. The humans were to remain in the valley. Any person who left their place and went to the other's and murdered of the others was to be executed.
There was to be an academy to try to arrange eventual harmony between humans and dragons, pairing young children with young dragons. The academy was to be held on a two peaked mountain, one peak the living quarters for the humans, the other for the dragons. And where the peaks met was the academy, where they were to collaborate and work together as a team.
The peace is tentative, to say the least, with the dragons having no idea where the secret tunnels that lead to their sacred land are. The dragons are fearful of the intruders and the humans are fearful of the monsters. Ten years have passed since the treaty was established. Will coexistence ever be possible?
WHAT TO GLEAN FROM ABOVE:
1. This all happened ten years ago. So plan accordingly when creating characters and back stories.
2. Characters can be dragon or human. There is no shape-shifting.
3. Only Elders of the humans know about the secret tunnels. Please don't stumble across them on accident.
4. Older dragons are likely to be resentful and not accepting of the program, so there likely won't be so many involved in the program. THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS. Just factor this in when you create a dragon, that the younger you make it, the more sense it makes for the dragon to collaborate with the partner.
5. Please please PLEASE do not do anything stupid that makes war imminent, like traipsing over dragon lands and slaying dragons with a single strike.
6. On that note, please don't be superbly overpowered.
I think that's about it. If you have questions, I think I made a folder for that. If not, ask here and ask away!
OTHER:
A bond is basically a sliver of the soul is traded with a sliver of the other's soul.
Every bonded person can be controlled by the Bond Below, a secret entity that slips into each bonding, making a three way bond.
