Hmmm, maybe Horimiya.
The characters present themselves differently in class than outside of it, both personality and appearance wise. This is a shock to each of them. The dude also (view spoiler)
If you check for the status of this one, Horimiya is Shoujo, but the previous incarnation of it (a web comic), was technically published Shounen.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I checked the bookshelf you guys read this last year. So I don't know if it's acceptable.
I'll look for more Shoujo later and see if I can find any. :)
@ Terrence: I'm afraid that Horimiya is actually Shounen.
@ Tiffany: It's been more than a year since we read it, so that suggestion is fine. :)

Ah, you're right, published in GFantasy which is a Shounen mag. But Wiki lists its demographic as Shojo for some reason. xC

Really? Last I looked (when I was about to suggest it earlier this month), it said Shounen. Someone must've changed it. Weird.

Suggest shoujo manga in which a character gets a total makeover. It could be that they've changed a lot since childhood. Maybe they worked hard for that new look. Maybe they're personality has had an overhaul.
As always, each member may suggest up to five manga and please don't suggest things we've read in the last year. :)
