Welcome to the Books for Boys forum! Are you a children's book author and/or illustrator creating works specifically geared towards boys? Tell us about it!

The purpose of this group is to help review & promote our work, and to discuss the issues surrounding boys and reading.

In this thread, please tell us about yourself and whatever projects you're working on.

B.C. Mullins | 7 comments Hello! I am the author of a children's chapter book series for young readers, the "Tony Taylor" series. Two books in the series have been published to date with more on the way. These books are based on stories and characters I created for my own boys when they were younger. I am now at work on a YA novel for teens.

Kate Burke | 9 comments Hi! I have a five-book series already up at Kindle, the BLUE RIVER BOY chapter books. They are all based on my husband's actual childhood, growing up on the family farm in central Nebraska during World War II.

Anybody should enjoy them, but the main character is most decidedly a boy, and his adventures are very much scrapes boys almost exclusively got into back then. Ron's tales start at six years old and move through ten years, until he graduates from high school at age sixteen.

Everybody asks, Did all this really happen to him?

Yup. And I'm lucky he lived to tell about it.

Stewart Hoffman (thebugboys) | 27 comments Hello! I published The Bug Boys last year and I plan to release the next book in the series soon. It's a science fiction superhero story grounded in a blue-collar South Yorkshire village (UK). It's got bugs, aliens, robots, and fart jokes. Everything a growing young reader needs. :-)

It may be a few weeks before I can focus on it, however.

Welcome! I ordered myself a copy of your paperback (only $5 - I prefer a physical book over digital if the price is right!) I'll add it to my reading list and review it soon.

Good luck with book 2. I also have a book out there - The Bug Boys - and a sequel that should be available in September. (www.TheBugBoys.com)

M.C. Gill Hello! I am the author of two books in a series aimed at boys who are between 7 and 13. The first book is The Fart That Saved the World and the second book is The Fart That Saved the World: The Deadly Field Trip.

If you are a fan of humor and adventure, then please check out these funny books! (If you don't think farts are hilarious, then please stay away!)

I would greatly appreciate any feedback and reviews on Amazon. They are available on Kindle Unlimited or I can send mobi/PDF files.

I look forward to checking out some of the authors on here and providing feedback!

I think you and I are going to get along! My book, The Bug Boys - features a good amount of toilet humor too! I ordered your paperback (as I want to send it on to my nephew) and I'll read/review it soon.

Thanks Stewart! I will have to get your book too and share it with my 9 year old son (I'm sure we will both enjoy the humor)!

Great! However, while my book mostly has fun with bugs, farts, aliens and superheroes, it does touch (lightly) on more serious issues of bullying and abuse. Just an FYI.

Tony Hunter (little_trooper_books) | 5 comments Hi everyone, I have two currently published kids books and working on a number of others (just sent a third off to my editor yesterday). I'm focusing on military-books with an educational angle.
Both my current books are here on Goodreads if you want to take a look:

Look forward to seeing some of the groups works.

Jessica Montanaro Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for books for an 11 yo boy.....he loves hockey and video games... just wondering if anyone had any good ideas.

Stewart Hoffman (thebugboys) | 27 comments I have my Bug Boys series. It's a smelly twist on the superhero origin story! If that's not his cup of tea, he might enjoy, Finally, Something Mysterious by Doug Cornett.
