A big bravo to you for getting your book on audio! This is my dream. My publisher is not interested, however. Did you go through the Amazon program?

Thanks Karen! I'm sorry your publisher is not interested. I used ACX to create my audiobooks. After several auditions, I choose Lucy Floyd. She speaks fluent French and is wonderful with various character's voices. I can highly recommend her. Here is a sample if you're interested: https://soundcloud.com/user-414551044...

I just listened to your clip. How fun! I love the accent she does of Mme Dubois (speaking English). Thanks for the tip, and recommendation. I will keep her name...because you never know!

Thanks for your kine words, Karen! Yes, I think Madame Dubois steals the show. Hopefully, one day you will be able to bring your book to life too. Good luck!

Thanks for clicking into this post. I have a few free codes to give away for the audiobook version of my memoir, French Illusions: My Story as an American Au Pair in the Loire Valley, in exchange for a review at Audible.com. Here is a summary of my story.
It’s 1979 and Linda needs to learn a language fast in order to fulfill her dream of becoming a flight attendant. Broke yet determined, she chooses French immersion and contracts to become an au pair for a wealthy family in the Loire Valley. Yielding to poor judgment, she lies on her application and claims to speak basic French, confident she'll be forgiven once she arrives at the Château de Montclair. As she struggles to adapt to her challenging new environment with the hard-to-please Madame Dubois and her two incomprehensible children, Linda signs up and attends language classes at the local university. When she encounters, Adam, a handsome young student, her life becomes more complicated—adding fuel to her internal battle for independence.
