I really enjoyed the concept of this book, and the idea of a magical library that allows a person to time travel into other dimensions is really interesting. There certainly was a lot to take in, and I found myself confused at times trying to figure out how the Library or the Language worked, but I thought that Cogman set up an interesting magical system. I would certainly be interested in trying the next book in the series, The Masked City. I'd like to learn more about the Dragons and how their magic works.
Overall, I thought the concept was really exciting, but the execution left something to be desired. I ended up skimming the last half of the book because I just wasn't excited about reading it. I was hoping for more action and mystery and was left with a lot of painfully boring conversations between the characters about what they should do or what they surmised was happening. Not sure I'll continue the series, although I did love the idea of a magical library universe - I was just hoping for more.
