Well, [fingers crosses] it looks like I'm finally going to reach the top of Mt. Olympus, so I thought I'd go all-in next year and see if I can do it again.

Woohoo! I'm so inspired by you Olympians! Wondering what the breakfast of champions might be. Yogurt and oatmeal? Hmm. Yes, that's what it must be. Yogurt and oatmeal.

I'm hoping it's Crispex and turkey bacon....That's what I had this morning.

I'm amused to see that you and a few others know exactly when a book was acquired. I'm doing well if I can pin it down to a specific year!. I occasionally log things into Goodreads when they arrive, but more often I don't add them until I get to them.

Steven: once I got acquainted with Excel and realized that I could track this sort of thing...I...well...went a little crazy. Things get a bit murky before that. I didn't always record when I got things--sometimes I just give it my best guess.

I tend not to go with spreadsheets and databases, though...perhaps I should, because one of these days I'm sure to wind up with multiple duplicates (I've done that with only two or three books so far.)

Thanks, Steven! We'll see if I can stay focused. Lost my stamina there at the end of 2016...
Oh, and by the way:
7. The 24th Horse by Hugh Pentecost [on TBR since 5/31/16]

Bev wrote: "Thanks, Steven! We'll see if I can stay focused. Lost my stamina there at the end of 2016...."I managed to completely lose momentum when I started recording ARTLAB1 in June or so, initially because I had to assemble all kinds of new studio components, and then because, well, work, initially on an insane deadline. So I ended up scrambling like mad at the end of the year.
It's probably better to work up an even pace, though, and maintain that through the year -- rather than trying to front-load things the way I'm doing right now. As you've seen over the past several years, my starting pace is generally more even. As February rolls around, I expect to slow down a bit, ad tackle the longer tomes.

They were so wonderful back in the day before the video tapes and DVDs came out. They're still awfully cool.

Bev wrote: "They were so wonderful back in the day before the video tapes and DVDs came out. They actually represented a good part of any familiarity I had with the TV series; I saw very few of the episodes until the 1980s.

I grew up on Classic in reruns (every afternoon at 4 pm!). Still my favorite Trek.

I love Ellison. I hope you enjoy it when you get to him.

I've got the DVD set of the TV series...I haven't had a chance yet to watch them. When it comes down to a choice between "read a book" and "watch something" I almost always choose "read a book."

Good going, Bev! I'm eyeing Mt. Ararat after I finish Pike's Peak. I have so many books! My Goodreads Challenge for the year is set at 70 books, so I figured I'd skip a few mountains. :)
