Takes place in Iceland and written by an Australian author so it could count for both. Powerful, deep "dark love letter to Iceland". See my full review for more information. Warning - the ending (though stated at the beginning) will leave you sad and confused. I gave it 5 stars though I would give it 4.5 if possible because the dialogue lacked something for me. Those paragraphs seemed to drag for me. The thoughts of the accused main character - Agnes - are rich, deep, raw and insightful and these sections kept me reading. The symbolic descriptions are marvelous and I marked up several sections in my book. (Not something I usually do.) If I get the time, I am going back to mark more.
