The Shadow of the TorturerIt is Science Fantasy, I don't think this genre ever really took off. While I found some parts of this book enjoyable, I really didn't care for its meandering and wandering narrative.

I ended up not liking this book. I found that Wolfe's tone didn't engage me and made it impossible for me to relate to, or care about, the protagonist. I had high hopes going into this book because it was so lavishly praised, only to have them dashed by the boring prose. Disappointing.
