Secret Santa

It’s that time of year! The time of year when Christmas is right around the corner and we all get those gifts that we love to see. Books!! We are currently taking sign-ups for Secret Santa. We all know that mail carriers tend to get bogged down and slow during the last few weeks before Christmas. We would love for everyone to get their Secret Santa gifts before Christmas.

We and this to be a fun Secret Santa that doesn’t put too much of a damper on your wallet. Please only sign up if you are truly interested and are committed to sending off a package. We would like to avoid any problems. We did this last year and for the most part it ran smoothly. Plus I really don’t want to have to hunt any of you down. I love you all to much to want to do that.

This year we are going to do just one package choice rather than the three or four we had last year. This year we ask that each person sends 1 book out with some goodies. The reason we are asking that this year is in case anyone wants to send out more than one box. So if you would like to send out more than one box please by all means tell us so and we'll make sure to accommodate your wish.

You will need to send in the following information by November 19th/20th I would prefer the 19th. All participants will be paired on the 21st. Please send all information to booktasticnerd87(at)gmail(dot)com.

1. Full name
2. Address
3. Social Media accounts the more the better so your secret santa can get to know you better ( Tumblr, Blog, Goodreads, Twitter )
4. Are you willing to ship to more than one person? ( Yes or No only )
5. List no more than 10 books that you would like to receive or a link to your wishlist. A mixture of new and old releases is asked. DO NOT request only hardbacks and we also ask that you DO NOT request ARCS.
6. List a few of your bookish preferences: (Favorite Authors and Genres, Things you WILL NOT read, bookmarks, etc)
7. Do you mind used books? Y/N (If you send a used book make sure that it is like new. If you wouldn’t want to receive it odds are your recipient will not either.)
8. Are you okay with them getting you something that is not on your wishlist if they think you will like it? Y/N
9. Please tell your secret santa about you. (This will help your secret santa pick out some goodies for you. What are you allergic to? Do you love chocolate or hate it? Do you like hot chocolate? Or do you prefer tea or both? Disney addict? Star Wars Lover or Star Trek Lover? The details about you are endless pick what you think they NEED to know.)

When you receive who is to be your person that you are playing secret santa for go out and play santa and buy those presents. Please send this out no later than December 12th . The earlier the better as the mail is always slow during the holiday season. After you send off your package, please email me with a delivery confirmation. This helps your gift receiver track his/her package.

Please email us again when you receive your package. If you have not received your package by January 1st please email us and I will attempt to contact your secret santa. Please understand I will try my hardest to work it out but there will only be so much I can do in the event someone decides to ruin peoples fun.

If you are on Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr we are planning to use the hashtag #bookishsanta. We would love to see the process that you go through picking out books and goodies. Or just little sneak peeks for your secret santa skills. Post a picture of a wrapped book or at the post office. Do this when you receive the box and opening the box.

Guidelines:

*I know I have already said this once earlier on but if you send a used book please do not send something that you would not want to receive. It should be in VERY good condition.
*Books can be new or used.
*A box can include things like 1 or 2 books and a goodie or two. Bookmarks because none of us can ever have to many bookmarks. Something bookies. And a nice card would be wonderful.
*If you would like to include when you send in your form things about yourself to help your secret santa. Like you are a Harry Potter fan or a Star Wars fan or even both. These things help greatly to get to know you better. Or what music you love, if you celebrate Christmas, hobbies you have (if you have any other than reading of course), things you collect, would you like something native to where your secret santa lives? Are you a tea fanatic or coffee lover? Do you read ebooks and would like a gift card with a small amount ($10) on the gift card. Just anything that helps them get to know you.

To all who have asked about international or just US only. Secret Santa is no longer just for the US! For international shipping we ask that you use Book Depository. They have free shipping world wide.

I'm so excited for this!!! I'm totally willing to send something internationally too. I can't wait!!!

I'm kind of excited about it as well. I enjoyed it last year even though it was kind of small but still it was fun.

I have received all the applicants that have wished to sign up. I have done some tweaking and working things around to make sure that everyone has a Santa and getting some last minute details. Details should be out this evening.

Details have been sent out. My husband sent out my details to two random people I have no clue who. So there are going to be two separate to two different people. One from my husband with my information and one from myself with another person. These people are people who have agreed to send out to more than one person. These people were paired together and will all receive two boxes.

If you received me please contact Megan and she may contact me to ask question for you.

I have received notice that someone has sent out their boxes. So our first Secret Santa boxes have been sent out.

Please do not forget that the last day that you have to have your boxes sent out is 12/12 that is one week from tomorrow.

Okay, I have to announce that our first box has been received. I received a wonderful box from Butterfly! I love the book and cannot wait to get started reading it. I also love the sweets. My youngest is very pleased with the Lebkuchen. There may be fighting over who gets it. I might share it with him because he has taste like mine and enjoys foreign foods. He may even try the other two sweets in the box as well. Thank you so so much.

He's a Lebkuchen thief. I mean really one moment it was sitting on my bedside table the next it was missing and all I heard was a giggle as he ran down the hallway with it.

I got my package from ButterflyMentions today!!! I got Lament by Maggie Stiefvater and some amazing tea! I could smell it before I even got the package all the way opened! I can't wait to try it. Great start to the holiday season!!! Thank you so much ButterflyMentions!!!

Okay it's official. He's stolen them and won't tell me where he hid them. For a five year old he's pretty crafty. I said if he told me where they were I would open them and finally share them. He said no. Now I must go search his room for the tasty treats he has finally stolen and hidden. And that is if he didn't find the scissors and open them and eat them all himself. LOL

Several more people have sent out boxes.

Got my second box today from Roxanne and it's fabulous! I got The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly and All the Rage both of which I've been wanting. There was also an Eeyore ornament, some tea and some awesome signed bookmarks!!! Thanks Roxanne!!!
Both of my secret santas were great this year!!! I sent out my boxes on Saturday so hopefully my people will be getting them soon!

I would really like to thank my secret Santa but I am not sure who it is. My books all came directly from book warehouses.

Ok... I think I figured it out. I think my secret Santa is Gabrielle Angel. Thank you so very much for my books!! I was so excited to open each one. I cannot wait to read them.

Oh I am so glad that you received your packages. Once everyone has received their packages or sometime after Christmas I may reveal Santas if people have not figured it out or stepped forward.

I got my package out today and it is scheduled to be delivered Saturday the 17th.

YaY. I got my second package today from Lizzy. I loved the book! I cannot wait to read it! I have been so excited for that book!

So I got a surprise from Megan. She sent me a few books in a box with a tsum tsum and a few cute other little items that I love. So the books were...

I received my book a few days ago as well! I had a little trouble with the post office to get it. (Again!!! :() I got , fuzzy socks and a lot of chocolate. I loved everything! There was no note that I could find to say who it was from! Thank you tho!

I'm excited because my secret Santa should be receiving their gift from me today! At least it was scheduled to arrive today...so here's hoping!

My mom always fusses at me about being crazy and worrying over silly things but...I always stress a little when I choose gifts for others...When I buy a gift I'm like 'yeah this will be great', but when I get home I'm like, 'nooo, why did I think this was okay?!' lol. It's stupid but I go through it every time.

I'm excited, my person should be recieving their box on Monday. :D

I do this myself a lot especially when it comes to my husband. It's horrible. I will buy him something and then I'll spend the next two weeks until Christmas stressing over it. Yes, two weeks. I am actually done with all my Christmas shopping.

I think I have both of my boxes I am not sure though as I have not opened them.. I am waiting for Christmas although I kind of want to open them now. Maybe I will today as I need a little early Christmas!
