I'm not quite done with my 2016 challenge, but I'm hopeful I can get 60 done in 2017. I'm going to take a different approach in 2017 and focus on cozy mysteries. Should be fun!

So ... I am still planning to focus on cozies next year, but I also just signed up for a non-fiction challenge and will be able to combine that with several really old TBRs! YAY! And I'm also planning to read the five books that were on my goal list for 2016 that I didn't get finished. I also think I can include some of the books I'm reading for a challenge in my Agatha Christie group. I'm sure I've read some of them before, but it's been so long ago I'm going to count them as TBRs. (We're talking 20 years ago or more! Yikes, I'm old.)
EDIT: I can count almost all of the books I'm reading for the Agatha Christie challenge since I went through my collection and I own almost all of them. I have some Agatha Christie books that belonged to my grandpa!!
Just posting this to make it easier on myself. Books left over from my 2016 goal list:2. The Sherlockian Graham Moore
4. Clara and Mr. Tiffany Susan Vreeland
5. The Family Man Elinor Lipman
I signed up for the Serial Reader challenge in the 2017 Reading Challenge group, which is great since I wanted to do a lot of series reading in 2017. I can combine all my challenges with my TBR list!! If I complete all these challenges, I'll have:23 TBR books from the Serial Reader challenge
17 TBR books from the Agatha Christie challenge
8 TBR books from the Dewey Decimal challenge
I'm so ready for it to be January so I can get started on my challenges!!
Finished my first TBR for the year, The A.B.C. Murders by Agatha Christie. This one also counts toward my Agatha Christie challenge.
Finished TBR #2 for the year, Doggie Day Care Murder by Laurien Berenson. This one also counts toward my Serial Reader challenge. One of my goals is to get caught up on this series by the end of the year or sooner.
Finished TBR #3 for the year, Blueberry Blues: A Gray Whale Inn Short Story by Karen MacInerney. This one also counts toward my Serial Reader challenge.
Finished TBR #4 for the year, Pumpkin Pied: A Gray Whale Inn Short Story by Karen MacInerney. (I know both this one and the last one were short stories, but Goodreads counts them as books, so I will also. ) This one will also go toward my Serial Reader challenge.
Finished TBR #5, Night of the Living Deed by E.J. Copperman. I'm reading this series as a buddy read (or group read, if others want to join) and it also counts toward my Serial Reader challenge.
Finished TBR #6, American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld. I'm soooo happy to be done with this book! I did not like it!
Finished TBR #7, Passenger to Frankfurt by Agatha Christie. I had never read this one before and it was very different than her other books. This one also counts toward my Agatha Christie challenge.
Finished TBR #8 for the year, The Gnostic Gospels by Elaine Pagels. Yippee skippy, I am so glad to be done with this one! I've had this in my pile for years and years and it fit in with my non-fiction challenge and now I can get rid of it!
Finished TBR #10 for the year, Whale of a Crime by Karen MacInerney. This one also counts toward my Serial Reader challenge.
Finished TBR #11 for the year, A Lesson in Secrets by Jacqueline Winspear. This one also counts toward my Serial Reader challenge. Another of my goals for this year is to catch up on this series. I'm really pleased with my progress so far!!
I had more time to plan out this year -- last year I didn't even start the challenge until February, I think. :)
Finished TBR #12, The Golden Ball and Other Stories by Agatha Christie, This one also counts toward my Agatha Christie challenge.
Finished TBR #13, Gone with the Woof by Laurien Berenson. This one also counts toward my Serial Reader challenge. Yippee!!
Finished TBR #14, A Dark and Stormy Murder by Julia Buckley. I loved this book! This one also counts toward my Serial Reader challenge. :)
Finished TBR #15, Death of a Dog Whisperer by Laurien Berenson. This one also counts toward my Serial Reader challenge.Back up everyone, because I am ON FIRE!!! :)
Finished TBR #17 late last night, Killer Jam by Karen MacInerney.I just realized I passed Pike's Peak a ways back (*waves behind me at Pike's Peak*) and am now working my way up Mount Blanc.
Finished TBR #18 today, The Man in the Brown Suit by Agatha Christie. This one also counts toward my Agatha Christie challenge.
Finished TBR #19 tonight, An Uninvited Ghost by E.J. Copperman. I'm glad I got a lot done in January, because I haven't made much progress in February.
Finished TBR #20 for the year, The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks. This was a really long book, so I'm happy I was able to finish it in a month (along with a few other books)!
Thanks Holly! I've got some really long books ahead of me so that's why my progress has slowed. But hopefully I'll make it.
Gosh, I haven't been able to update this in forever!!! Finished TBR #21 for the year, The Bark Before Christmas by Laurien Berenson. Yes, I finished a Christmas-themed book on St. Patrick's Day. I'm really close to being caught up on this series and I insist on reading them in order regardless of the season :)
Finished TBR #23 for the year, Elegy for Eddie by Jacqueline Winspear. Still working on getting caught up on this series. This one also counts toward my Serial Reader challenge.
Woo-hoo, I finished TBR #24 for the year, In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin by Erik Larson! This one was on my TBR goal list last year but I didn't get to it. And I'm meeting the author this week so I'm really glad that I was able to finish it. I'm still reading one of his other books (Dead Wake) also.So I think this gets me to the summit of Mount Blanc! Just in time for the quarterly check-in :)
Cool that you're getting to meet the author! I've always wanted to read his book about Chicago World's Fair.
That's what I'm afraid of ;). Which would you recommend reading first -- Dead Wake or the Chicago World's Fair book?
Finished TBR #26 for the year, A Christmas Howl by Laurien Berenson. Yes, I am still reading Christmas books out of season but I'm super close to being caught up on this series! Hopefully the next time a Christmas-themed one comes out I'll be able to read it AT Christmas time. :)
Finished TBR #27 for the year, 4:50 from Paddington by Agatha Christie. I'm woefully behind on my Agatha Christie challenge so I took a break from my longer books to read this one.
Finished TBR #28 for the year, Live and Let Growl by Laurien Berenson. I'm finally caught up on this series! This one also counts toward my Serial Reader challenge.
Finished TBR #30 for the year, Crooked House by Agatha Christie. I'm so behind on my Agatha Christie challenge! Reading the Dark Tower series is killing me :(
Finished TBR #32 for the year, The Boomerang Clue by Agatha Christie (this book was also published under the title Why Didn't They Ask Evans?). This one also counts toward my Agatha Christie challenge. This book was in a box that came from my grandparents' house when they moved into a retirement home. They have both passed away since. I've taken this box with me every time I've moved for the last 20 plus years and I'm just now getting around to reading some of them. There were a lot of Agatha Christie books in the box! Anyway, this one had a price on the cover of 75 cents :)
Finished TBR #33 for the year, The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie. Making a little progress on my Agatha Christie challenge in between reading the Dark Tower series and the Shannara books.
