Max | 191 comments It was around midnight when Luke finally decided to leave. He had been agonizing over his decision for days now and he had finally come to his conclusion. He was going to go find his brother. There was only the slightest chance that he was still alive, but that was enough for Luke to keep hope. He just kept on telling himself that he would've known if his twin, Alec, had died. So now with his decision made he swung his bag onto his shoulder and crept out from his sleeping spot among the barrels and boxes. He didn't sleep with the rest of the crew and preferred to find obscure places to rest. Pausing halfway across the deck he knelt down to check and make sure he had everything he needed in his bag.

Xwft It was one of those nights Raven just couldn't sleep. She had left her sleeping place ages ago and now sat up in the rigging. If she couldn't sleep she might as well go someone at least slightly relaxing. She wasn't really paying attention to anything her mind just wandering form random thought to random thought but she still noticed a human silhouette appear on the deck below. Blinking a few times, Raven did a double take thinking it was just her eyes but the shape kept moving. In one spot it hit the moon light making it clear it was indeed a human. Curious , Raven climbed silently down a bit and watched them wondering what anyone else was doing up at this hour. As she watched she started making out more features of who it was. And the bad gave it away. Now highly confused, Raven climbed the most of the way down making as little noise as possible. Whatever Luke was doing he didn't seem to want others to know about it, so if Raven wanted to know she would have to stay silent. She hung just above Luke pressing against the mast of the ship to he would have a harder time seeing her if he looked up. With confused eyes, Raven watched him rummage through his bag seemed to be counting things or mentally cheeking them off. That's when she realized, Luke was leaving.

Max | 191 comments ((Wait, are they docked?))
It was true what people said about sentries. They looked everywhere, but hardly ever looked up. That was no different for Luke, who after giving the deck another long look shrugged his bag back on and continued towards the ship's ladder. He didn't even think for a moment to look up, so he didn't notice Raven watching him. He took a deep breath and turned around to look at the beautiful ship one more time. Luke wasn't any normal kid, he hadn't had a normal home or family. But the water, these ships were his own weird house, and the crew were his family. So this was a big deal for him, he was stepping out of his comfort zone and he wasn't sure he would ever come back. But no matter how close he was to the crew, no one could replace his brother. The breeze shifted, rustling his clothing and it seemed to move him back into action. Making sure all the straps of his bag were secure, he climbed down the ladder and away from the ship.

message 5: by Xwft (new)

Xwft ((Well that's kinda makes more sense being that makes it easier for Luke to get off without swimming or taking a boat which everyone will notice.))

Raven watched and waited until Luke had stopped looking the ship over to climb down, a slight smug smile on her face. People never looked up. She never understood why not but they never do. Walking along the ship deck, Raven wasn't really trying to stay quite anymore. She had enough information to know what Luke was doing. She had caught him in the act, there was no getting out of this for him. Leaning on the railing and peering over the edge, Raven waited for Luke to be at the bottom before speaking up. "Going for a midnight stroll are we?" She asked smirking down at him. Without waiting a reply, Raven walked over to ladder herself and swung herself down, dropping the last meter or two. She stood in fort of Luke arms crossed questioning look on her face. She was about the same high as him so it didn't give the same effect but she still went with it. "Because that seems a lot of stuff to take on a walk. Unless you plaing trouble?" It was almost came out as a accusation no question. Them pirates couldn't go anywhere without being hunted. That's why she always keapt her bow on her back, just in case.

message 6: by Max (new)

Max | 191 comments ((Yeah, that makes everything easier!))

Luke practically jumped out of his skin when he heard someone spoke up behind him. He glared angrily at Raven as she landed softly in font of him, blocking his way off of the dock. Taking a deep breath he forced himself to smile brightly at her, happy that the darkness covered most of his features.
"I could't sleep, so I decided to go for a walk." He answered carefully. That didn't explain the need for a packed bag though, so when she asked about that next he had to do some quick thinking.
"Well I figured I might get hungry.... or tired so I brought food and a blanket." He lied, still trying to keep an easy smile on his face. If Raven tried to stop him from leaving he wasn't sure what he would do. He didn't want to hurt her, and judging from her skill, he probably couldn't, but he was not going to let her stop him from leaving.

Xwft Raven nodded fully accepting his first answer. He sounded and looked sincere enough, despite the dark. Beside she had done that before to, that was literally what she was doing before just not walking. It was his answer to her last question she didn't fully believe. However she could see some wired sort of logic in it. She pondered his words a bit before unsheathing her bow. "Ok lets go." She said spinning on her heel and walking off gesturing with her bow for Luke to follow. The only reason she had it out was because some sick people walked the streets at night so she was just playing it safe. Once you pulled a weapon one people they normally backed down. Raven had learnt that the heard way. "So." She started looked over to Luke while walking. "Whats keeping you up?" She asked deciding to press slightly more for answers. He wasn't the only one being keapt up at night but she didn't know how much she believed him. It still looked like to much stuff for what he said it was.

message 8: by Max (new)

Max | 191 comments Luke couldn't help but sigh. Everything had been going so smoothly. He should've expected that someone like Raven was going to catch him in the act. Now he had to figure out a way to ditch her on the walk. He paused as she started walking and watched her with an annoyed expression on his face before jogging to catch up with her. The one thing that Luke didn't have to lie about, was what was keeping him up. Ever since the incident with Nancy he had been having nightmares about Sirens. Especially for male pirates or sailors, Sirens were a huge danger. They were stunning and beautiful, but only to lure you to your death. The fact that he had been so close to one scared him more than he was willing to admit.
"Um, I dunno. Nancy's mom freaked me out a bit." He answered casually. He didn't want to seem weak or childish.
"How come you were up?" He countered.

message 9: by Xwft (new)

Xwft ((Heya Max without giving to much away (I like mystery.) but what kinda plans did you have for Luke's brother? Was he just going to be held captive or was he going have been turned bad over time? If you have no idea I can help with that. I'll reply tomorrow it's not late over here and i was climbing the whole day, so sorry for late replies, I haven't forgotten!)

message 10: by Max (new)

Max | 191 comments ((oh... uh, I actually don't really know. Having his brother turn bad sounds sort of fun though.))

message 11: by Xwft (new)

Xwft ((OK well.... I have a way to possibly make him bad i'll get back to you on that one.))

"What keeps everyone up, Nightmares." She said not going into to much detail. Most of her dream consisted of her brother. Plus a lot of death. A lot of it. Some weren't vivid. Just random images blurred together. Still freaking her out but less then sometimes, she could still go back to sleep. Others were worse. Every tiny detail was clear and it was like it was actually real. Those were the ones that she woke up screaming. The ones that made her unable to get back to sleep. The ones like tonight. "But yes Nancys mum it pretty freaking. Though apparently she liked me. at lest enough to kill me then and there." Raven laughed still mindlessly walking wherever her feet would take her. "Where exsactly are we going?" Raven ended up asking after getting bored of just walking. There was no where to really go and she didn't really want to head to far into town. There were guards and people both not the best thing to run into at night. " Yet you seemed to have a destination in mind." She said being that after she got bored she stated following Luke, letting him lead her, and he seemed to know where he was going.

message 12: by Xwft (new)

Xwft ((Scratch that I know the answer now..... Well be prepared for a lot of words

I got a massage from Zandraga a few days ago about an idea he had do do with Zander. We talked it over a bit and i think i have ideas. Now i'll try not to tell you to much being like i said mystery's fun so in short words Zander was going 'vanish' and get caught by a evil organisation *spoilers.* and i was thinking maybe for added conflict Luke's brother could be part of the said bad organisation (maybe leader of it idk). I'm thinking they will be working for the Royal Navy ((So still out for pirates blood but more but more dangerous with mind games and stuff and have more tech and be genuinely more of a threat.)) but idk so i guess, if you want you, you can making it up.

Anyway I just threw you in the deep end so if none of this sounds appealing we can do something different. In this case it's all up for you. :-) Look more choices for you lol you know you love em XD ))

message 13: by Max (new)

Max | 191 comments Luke chuckled nervously and smiled slightly.
"Yeah, the not killing you part is pretty much the only reason I sort of like Nancy's mom." He shrugged and continued walking. When she asked where he was going, he frowned slightly. That was a good question, after all, where was he going? He hadn't really thought out all the details of his plan, he had just wanted to get off the ship before it set sail again. He was exhausted and his brain wasn't really working at full capacity, so it took a him a while to come up with an answer.
"Um, the tavern." He muttered quietly. He had noticed Raven's reluctance to go into town, so he hoped that maybe she would give up and go back to the ship. He wanted to go there anyways to get information about where the last Navy ship had been seen, or if anyone had caught sight of a kid who looked a lot like him. The tavern was always the best place to get information, especially if you had a few coins on you. Luke didn't have a lot of money, but he had swiped a few things from the ship so he was good to go for a while.

message 14: by Max (new)

Max | 191 comments ((The amount of words is killing me!!!!!! I really like that idea though! So Zander is captured by said sort of navy but not organization. Luke's brother is part of it (I would say he definitely wouldn't be the head of it since he and Luke are twins and the chances of a 14 year old being the leader of something are very slim) so they have to rescue Zander from Luke's brother. I mean, we have as much drama as we can fit in there. It sounds awesome!))

message 15: by Xwft (new)

Xwft "It's the only reason I like her two." Raven muttered. It was also because she saved Nancy but she wasn't going to add that. When Luke didn't reply straight away, Raven didn't press for answers. If he knew the answer it would seem more like he wasn't just going for a walk. However when he answered with the tavern she looked at him with a high amounts of shock on her face. one fourteen year old and one eighteen year old walking into a tavern in the middle of the night. That was bound to go horribly wrong. She only ever went there with Zander at this time of night and even then she was on edge. Even with him by her side threatening to kill anyone that looked at her even in the slightest. Then slowly that shock turned into a grin as she figured stuff out. He tried so hard to hide what he was doing but that was the wrong answer to her question "Luke. What's in the bag?" She asked pointing to the threatening to over lode bag. "Tell me why are you bringing food to a place where you can just bye it and bring blankets to a place where you can just bye a room? And if you don't want to bye stuff why on earth are you bring that stuff their anyway?" She asks stiffing laughter. She believed Luke. She had fallen fully for his lie. But now she thought otherwise. "And tell me Luke why do you think it's a good idea for us two to walk into a tavern in the middle of the night. Surely even you know how wrong that can go so there must be a reason." She asked not hiding her curiosity or dulling the questions down. He was welcome to know she found out he was lying. And he got the question plain and hard like they were. She wanted to know.

Xwft ((Sweet! Yeah there is more to this story that i know and not telling you because i think it would be more fun. But i'm sure there is even more I haven't been told. Like i don't know their motives or what not and i don't know maybe i thinking to much into it but i feel there should be more. But anyway i'll think i'll make and NPC or whatever and be the leader lady/second in command, being Zander may want to take the role of leader. Now because he's still going away for 5 mouths we will need to do a bit of filler and stuff witch i think we can do. But i was thinking if you want maybe Luke's brother and the leader lady could met them sometime then play good guy act so therefore making Raven and Luke trust them. Before bring Zander in and messing everything up majorly. Because happy fun times XD
By the way i'm not the only one that writes lots lol. You should see some of your paragraphs :D ))

message 17: by Max (new)

Max | 191 comments Luke hadn't thought about the fact that his food story didn't make sense if he was going to the tavern, so when Raven pointed it out, he didn't have a good answer. He had been hoping she would just give up and leave but this seemed to make her even more interested in him. Her smirk didn't help him either and he stuttered a few unintelligible words as he tried to figure out a good lie. After a long silence he still hadn't come up with anything good, so he settled with the truth, or some of it at least. Shifting nervously from one foot to the other, Luke let out a resigned sigh before looking back up at Raven. He could tell she had already figured out most of it, but she probably wanted to hear the words from his own mouth.
"Alright. fine. I'm running away okay." He said angrily. All of this had gone so smoothly, Raven wasn't supposed to catch him. It wasn't part of the plan.
"I'm going to the tavern to get some information on something, and then i'm running away." He glared at her and then continued walking towards the town.

message 18: by Max (new)

Max | 191 comments ((Ah! The betrayal! The hatred! The sadness! This plot has got it all! That sounds awesome.I'm sure we can do some filler until he comes back. I feel so bad for Raven since she not only has to deal with Luke probably having a full on tantrum when he finds out about his brother, and deal with Zander's capture. Also, I didn't mean how long your posts are, I mean how long your out of roleplay posts are. Like these ones.))

message 19: by Xwft (new)

Xwft So be honest Raven was a bit shocked at the anger in Lukes voice. She was clearly not meant to catch him running away, that wasn't part of his plan. But it was to late to change now so she quickened her pace to match his when he started walking away. Even thought they were walking into town Raven followed. She just loaded her bow reading to shot anyone that tried anything. "Well you can't just walk off alone can you." Raven said. "So i'm going to join you, you'll need and archer anyway." She used those words against Zander before and they worked perfectly , she just wondered if Luke would let her away with it to. "Now I don't mean to press but I want to know what i'm getting myself into so what information are we going after?" She asked not that his answer would change her choice. She was following no matter what.

message 20: by Xwft (new)

Xwft ((Hahah now it's my character we feel bad for lol Now you put it like that I feel terrible for her she's going to have to deal with her boyfriend Zanders capture and break him out all the while dealing with Luke, who she sees as a brother, and his tantrum while trying not to get them caught. This will go so well! But yeah I'm sure we would be able to find some filler they have to actually find Lukes brother first and I have no idea how we are going to do that. And same thing both involve a lot of words, not that i'm overly complaining XD.))

message 21: by Max (new)

Max | 191 comments Luke didn't even turn to look at her, just continued walking and glaring at the ground.
"Actually. I can just walk off on my own. Why don't you stand right here, and watch me walk off if you don't believe me." He snapped at Raven. He knew in the back of his mind that having someone like Raven on his side would be useful, but he wanted to do this alone. He wanted to prove to everyone, and more likely, to himself that he could do stuff without anyone else's help. That was the one thing Luke was really serious about. He hated needing other people's help and had a ferocious need to be independent. He had never been sure why he felt so strongly about it, but he figured it had something to do with his parents, or rather the lack of having parents.
"Why don't you just go back to the ship okay? I'll be fine, i'm a big boy." He muttered sarcastically, leaning his head into the wind that was beginning to stir up. He knew that Raven could be stubborn, but he hoped that he was just a little more stubborn than she was on this matter.

message 22: by Max (new)

Max | 191 comments ((yup, Raven has to deal with it all!))

message 23: by Xwft (new)

Xwft ((Lucky me))

Raven stopped short at Lukes snappiness. She might have been able to take a lot of stuff, she dealt with the hardest people before, but when all she was doing was trying to help it was very annoying. It was late and her tolerance levels went down when she was tired. "Fine." Raven snapped. "Fine mister big boy. Go on you little way. But if you get in trouble don't you DEAR come crying back to me." Raven spat before spinning on her heel and striding off. If that's what Luke wanted then fine, she would, she would just walk off back to the ship. If he had a death wish, he could follow it out she wasn't about to be dragged into it. Beside she had more important things to do, like get some stuff and follow him anyway. She was just going to tell everyone what was going on first. She wouldn't normally be that harsh but Luke had riled her up to much that she couldn't care less about what he wanted. She wanted everyone to at lest no she didn't just walk off.

message 24: by Max (new)

Max | 191 comments ((Is she going to come back or not? If not I could have Luke say something to her, but it doesn't really fit his character))

message 25: by Xwft (new)

Xwft ((Nah she'll be back and will go to the tavern being that's where he said he was going. She just wont make herself noticed until she wants or Luke get's in trouble. She's just going to tell everyone he's leaving lol.))

message 26: by Max (new)

Max | 191 comments Luke was a bit taken by surprise at her equal return of rage. But he was glad that he had gotten her angry enough for her to leave. He didn't answer her angry words and instead just huffed angrily and continued walking. It was naive for him to think that she wouldn't follow him, but that was how a 14 year olds mind worked. His brain was so filled with plans and how to find the ship and his brother that it couldn't find that space to thing about Raven. So he just pushed thoughts of her away and continued towards the tavern. It was getting a bit chilly and the idea of a warm inn was already welcoming. He was beginning to regret leaving at night since it would've been much warmer and nicer to start his journey in the sun. Finally reaching the tavern he pulled open the door and slipping to the building. It was loud and smelled of unwashed bodies and ale. In a weird way it was sort of welcoming, like everyone knew they were disgusting and that was okay.

message 27: by Xwft (new)

Xwft Huffing in announce Raven climbed back onto the ship. She made her way silently down below deck to her cabin. Staying silent so she didn't wake anyone, Raven headed down to a cargo bay. She grabbed a small bag thingie and filled it up with a bit of food and anything she would need, which wasn't much. she liked traveling light buying or stealing anything she needed along the way. She filled up her quiver so she didn’t run out of arrows making sure it was packed.Taken a exact dagger in case of close combat fighting Raven slipped in into a sheath she tied around her waist before making her way to her cabin. She found it odd Zander wasn’t in there. He wasn’t there when she got up from her nightmare either but she didn’t put that much thought into it. Now he still wasn’t there she found it a bit odd but just guessed he might have been looking for her. Oh well he would know soon enough. Finding the things to write a note, Raven scribbled down a few words reading...
Hey everyone Luke is walking off or as he put it ‘running away’ so i’m following. I don’t know why he’s leaving my i’m intending on finding out. I took a few things with me so if there is something missing it’s because of me. I should be back soon with Luke or without I don’t know yet. Don’t worry about us.
Raven xoxo

After done writing her little note she placed it in plain sight then slipped off the ship taking a few bags of money with her. She could pay them back if they really wanted. Darting back through the streets bow in hand ready to shoot anyone how approached her. She headed towards the Tavern where Luke said he was going. Once there she slipped in not surprised groaning at the smell. She hated the Tavern at night but here she was. Entering alone. She slipped into the corner, bow still load and in hand as she waited to spot Luke.

Max | 191 comments ((Someone is using the tavern right now, so i'm just going to continue to post here. Also, i'm thinking of Luke getting into trouble with the same guys who he got into a fight with when he met Nancy. Would that make sense, or are they in a different place now?))

message 29: by Xwft (new)

Xwft ((Yeah just stay her it's easier. That would make prefect sense, realistically they might have moved but they probably came back so it can work.))

Max | 191 comments Luke took a moment to take in his surroundings before making a beeline for the bartender. He didn't want to get a drink or anything, although something warm did sound very nice at the moment. Actually, Luke really hated alcohol. He thought it tasted disgusting and the after affect were not pleasant. Of course no one on the ship had bothered to ask themselves if a 14 year old should be trying alcohol, so he had tried it before, but disliked it very much. But what bartenders always had, was information. Sometimes that information came with a price, but Luke figured this was pretty harmless so might be able to get a few pieces of info for free. He was a stride away from the counter when someone stepped in front of him. He didn't even look up, just swerved to avoid the man and keep going. But the man grabbed him by the arm and jerked him back towards him.
"Isn't this that boy who punched you?" The man called to another guy sitting at a table. Luke's heart lurched in his chest. These must have been the guys he had fought with Nancy.
"I think you might have the wrong guy." He said, squirming slightly. The man got up from the table and sauntered over to Luke who glared back at him, still trying to get away from the tight grip he was being held in.
"Nah. I'm pretty sure it was you." The guy smirked and inspected Luke's face carefully.
"You look a tad too.... innocent." He remarked.
"I'd like to help you with that. You know the ladies go crazy for a man with scars." He shrugged slightly and then before Luke could react, punched him in the face.

Xwft It didn’t take long for Ravne to spot Luke. He was the one of the only ones there under the age of 18. Though she knew where Luke was she didn’t make her presence known to him. He would likely get all snappy at her again and she couldn’t be bothered dealing with that. So she stayed where she was lounging in one of the seats bow resting on her lap. A few times other came up to her but by shooting them a death glare they backed off. At least they knew what was better for them. And dealing with her at this point in time wasn’t smart. Raven kept her head down, trying to to draw attention to herself. While she sat listening for anything of importance for her she started carving swirls on her bow with a dagger she had. There was lots of carvings on it. In the middle of it was her initials R.G.T and currently she was carving swirls around it letting out ehr artie said as she added little flowers as well. It made it more personalized and helped her know whose bow was whos. Plus it was good entertainment. She was busy going back over her already made swirls so the were prominent when she heard a familiar voice stand out over the crowd. His voice was quiet but she had been around Luke enough to recognize it. Raven looked up her eyes scanning the faces until she found Luke some other man holding him roughly by the arm. And he said he could defend himself Raven laughed silently as watched a moment wondering whether to intervene or not. But when they guy punched Luke the choice was made. She wouldn’t stand for that, not with her friends. Deciding to put a stop to it now, Raven stood standing up top the table so she had an easier shot. Taking only a second to line up her shot, she couldn’t care less if it actually hit them, Raven pulled the bow string back, a second later there was an arrow embedded into the wooden floor by the man that had punched Luke. “I suggest you don’t.” Raven said another arrow already loaded this time aiming for them. She didn’t say more but the message was clear, even for less smart people. Let the boy go and not blood will be shed.

Max | 191 comments Luke jumped as an arrow landed a little bit away from his own foot and he twisted around in the man's grasp to see who had shot it. He didn't really need to see Raven to know it was her, but he just wanted to make sure. While he was glad she had come to his rescue, he was utterly ashamed that he had been caught that easily. After promising her that he could take care of himself, he had proven the exact opposite and gotten punched in the face. The man who had punched him gave Raven a startled look and took a step towards her before thinking better of it and moving away, melting into the crowd that had gathered around. The guy holding Luke, let go of him and slipped away, following who was obviously the leader of the group. His satchel and pack had fallen to the floor and he shrugged them back on before turning fully to look at Raven. He looked at her silently for a long while, glaring angrily at her. He wasn't sure exactly what he wanted to say to her. Many things were running through his mind, none of them polite.
"Thank you." Was all he said in the end. His tone was grudging and annoyed, but he figured she at least deserved a thank you. He was not only annoyed with her, but with himself for not thinking enough about his escape plan. If he had thought it out better, none of this would have happened. But Luke tended to be pretty impulsive and reckless, he didn't think too much before doing.
"So I guess your coming if I like it or not?" He asked dryly, fidgeting uncomfortably with one of the strings on his shirt.

Xwft Raven just let it all play out watching in amazement at their started expressions. When one of them took a step forward all Raven did was adjust her aim and raise an eyebrow at them in a silent challenge. Daring them to attack. She wanted a bit of excitement. However they seemed to reconsider their actions and back off. “Really, letting me win so easy, well that was boring.” Raven taunted. To say she wasn’t trying to stir them up would be lying, she almost wanted them to turn around and try again, she had been pushed past her limits and someone sooner or later would pay for it. It was late she was tired, they were messing with and Luke it wasn't going to go well for them if they annoyed her again. Beside that would stop people look at her, it was so painful her eyes were sore from glaring so much. There was a tense silence in the whole room as Luke stared at her anger in his eyes. Instead of making sure he was ok or caving first Raven just met his glare with her own smug look. She watched him debated what to say, she wasn’t expecting a thank you of any kind. She had just proved him wrong and in a sense won their argument. Luke wouldn’t like that in any way. “Oh have a bit of gratitude.” Raven huffed rolling her eyes as she stepped off the table sheathing her bow as she did so. She flicked a bit of her blue tipped black hair behind her as she strode towards Luke pushing the crowd out the way as she did so. “You should have guessed that ages ago.” She replied stopping in front of him. He eyes ran over where the guys fist hit him, she couldn’t help it, as annoyed as she might be she still had the side of her the cared for him. Deciding he will be fine and if not she would deal with it later, Raven started speaking again. “Well what’s your plan? And please tell me you have a better plan then getting yourself beat up.” Raven asked pulling her arrow from the wood in one swift yank and slipping it back into her quiver.

Max | 191 comments Luke scowled at the ground and huffed out a short sigh. She was right about that. He should've guess that the second she saw him leaving that boat, she would follow him. He didn't want to admit it, but despite his annoyance with her, some part of him was grateful that she had decided to come along. Despite what many people think, teenagers do not think they are invincible, and Luke knew that better than most, so having Raven with him provided extra protection. He didn't like the idea of being mothered by anyone though so it was a constant battle between anger and relief when it came to seeing Raven right now. When he noticed her gaze run over the spot on his face that was probably turning an ugly shade of purple, another wave of annoyance washed over him. This was exactly what he didn't want. He didn't want someone who felt the need to care for him like he was a little kid who couldn't do anything himself.
"I'm going to find out where the last Navy ship was, find it, and go from there." He muttered. She didn't even know why he wanted to find a navy ship in the first place, but that would be enough information to go off of. He was about to say something else when he saw someone making a beeline for Raven's back. He had a knife in one hand, it was the guy who had punched him.
"Turn around." He said urgently to her, pulling out his own dagger.

Xwft “Wait what!” Raven looked at him a shocked look written across her face. He was deliberately looking for a royal navy ship? After their last encounters with the Royal Navy she didn’t really want another run in with them. “Luke that’s suicide you know that right?” Raven said dropping her voice, the look on her face changing from shocked to looking at him like he was just plain insane. How on earth was looking for the Royal navy a good running away plan and also a better plan then getting punch. Raven would gladly get punched anyday instead of going to those sick people who just happened to run this town. To make matter worse he didn’t seem to have a plan for after they find them. She was following after him in case he got in trouble not to go looking for trouble. “Mind me asking why in this world you want to find them?” Raven asked folding her arms expectantly the You’re insane look still on her face. She scowled when Lukes only reply was ‘turn around’ but she quickly picked up on the new found urgents in his voice. And the fact he pulled out his dagger made the matter even more serious. Spinning on her heel, Raven took a few steps to the side narrowly missing a knife in the arm. Yet her reactions weren’t quick enough. She felt a slight pin prick of pain as blood bubbled to the surface of her skin signaling a new cut on her forearm. Raven didn’t even take the time to think about what was going on before she kicked the man to the floor as he stumbled not expecting her to dodge like that. Raven might have given it a second thought about pulling her bow out and shooting but this man had run at her with the intent to hurt and, by the look of it, was the one who punched Luke. Raven was NOT about to let him get away. Before the man had time to get up Raven had her bow string pulled back. “I knew you wouldn’t let me get away that easy. Only problem is I still won.” With that she let go. Scary thing was she felt no regret even after hearing his pained cry as the arrow pierced the skin of his arm. Raven spun back around just as someone else running at her also armed. Raven just rolled her eyes loading and getting ready to shoot again when she saw the familiar glint of metal hitting light out of corner of her eye coming from behind Luke. It didn’t take long of her to process what was going on. That they weren’t as foolish as she thought they were. They wanted Luke not her, and they were smart enough to realize that her and Luke would be outnumbered if they all attacked at once. After all Raven could only shoot one person at a time. Cursing, Raven spun on her heel re-aiming at her man behind Luke leaving her back exposed to the man behind her.“Duck.” She yelled before letting the arrow fly and find home. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust Luke to take care of himself. It’s just that she would rather put him before herself. Rather feel the pain then watch Luke, her little brother, feel it with her being unable to help.

Max | 191 comments Luke hadn't expected Raven to react with such confusion. He had been more expecting rage and anger. But finally he figured that confusion would be the more expected answer since he hadn't told her the entire story.
"I don't care. I'm going anyways." He answered her sharply. She didn't get it. When Luke had lost his brother, it was like he had lost the last tie he had to his family. He had lost a giant piece of himself and he couldn't live with it any longer. He needed to find his brother or he would go insane. Maybe he already was going a bit insane, since the look Raven was giving him was one usually reserved for crazy people. But he knew he could fix this. He knew that his brother was alive, and if he could just bring him back home, everything would be better. He watched wide eyed as she managed to step aside just in time to dodge the man's blade. It would've gone straight through her rib cage if she hadn't been quick enough to move. He saw a streak of blood well up from a cut on her arm, but it didn't seem to affect her so he turned away to face the man's friends. He managed to disarm one of the men and kick him into a table where he landed, holding his arm tightly. He turned to look as he heard a piercing scream from a man who had one of Raven's arrows sticking out of his arm. When he took a moment to look at her expression he saw absolutely no remorse for what she had done. He wasn't sure if that scared him or if it made him want to smile. He decided on the smile, since the man had deserved it. Unluckily he was distracted for a few seconds and only managed to duck in time for Raven's arrow to go flying past his head and into the man behind him. He flashed her a grateful grin before noticing that there was someone else just beside her, blade raised.
"Move Raven!" He yelled at her, but he knew that there was no way she would be able to shift in time. Desperately he took a breath and threw his dagger at the man. It wasn't meant to be a throwing dagger and it wobbled uncertainly in the air before hitting the man in the thigh. He grunted and dropped a hand to his leg. Luke could only hope that he had hit him in time, because he couldn't see the man's dagger anymore. That could mean two things. One, he had dropped it when he got hit, or two, he had managed to lodge it into Raven's back.

Xwft Raven watched her arrow hit home, not kill, but do enough that he would rethink go after them again. Enough to keep him from hurting Luke. She couldn’t help but grin slightly as the told her to move. She knew all too well what was behind her and yes it would be idle if she could move, but she just couldn’t do anything about it not with such little time. The only thing she could do was brace herself, ready herself for the pain. However when it didn’t happen Raven was highly confused. She heard a grunt from behind her meaning he was close but she never felt anything, the expected pain didn’t come. It didn’t take her long to take advantage of the fact that whoever it was failed to stab her, or was hesitating. She didn’t know what caused it but she was glad. With a harsh smirk covering her face, Raven jabbed her elbow back. She didn’t know where it hit him but she know it did but the subtle pained noise the made. Now Raven wasn’t the best a hand to hand combat so didn’t really know what she was doing she just wanted this guy away from her. And because life just hated her right now it was very quickly made clare the guy behind her did know how to use his fists. As Raven thrust her elbow back she felt a bloodied hand lock around it pulling her back and spinning her around with surprising force. Despite her glares and how much she tried to pull from his grip the man didn’t let go, his intent fully on stuffing out her life. Beside she was ten times smaller than him the odds would have never been in her favour. Injured or not he was still stronger. In fact her struggles seemed to entertain him in some sick and twisted way. “Sorry girly.” The man said with and grin not sounding anywhere near sincere. With nothing more said the locked his hand around her throat quite effortlessly being his hand was much bigger. Raven gasped as she felt him pulling her off the ground, cutting of her windpipe. Time seemed to slow down for her as she clawed at his hands. Black spots dancing across her eyes as her lungs screamed for the air it wasn’t getting. Reaching the point of pure panic, Raven stopped think logically and just lashed out with her legs trying to do anything that would make him loosen his grip. Even if she only go one breath. In a last desperate attempt Raven kick out feeling her legs hit skin followed by him letting out a howl of pain. Then time speed up. His hand dropped from around her neck and she fell landing in a painful heap on the hard ground, gasping to fill her lung with the sweet air and rid the black hue form her vision. She didn’t know it then but she got lucky managing to kick him in the knife wound Luke had already inflicted. That might have made him let go but it also made him unbelievable mad.

Max | 191 comments Luke didn't even pause to turn around as he heard the sickening thunk of her arrow hitting the man behind him. Sometimes Luke thought that the sounds of a fight were more sickening than the actually visuals of it. He had nothing against fighting, since that's how he'd grown up that way, but no one could deny that the amount of blood that often ended up on the floor after a fight was enough to make anyone's stomach turn. His attention was totally focused on the man behind Raven, and the knife that he..... wasn't stuck in her back. He breathed a sigh of relief and moved on to his next opponent. There were far more people in this guy's group than he had thought and he and Raven were hopelessly outnumbered. But Luke was used to terrible odds, after all, you had to be when you were a 14 year old pirate. At such a young age, you had to know that everyone was going to be bigger, more experienced and stronger than you. The man in front of him was slimmer but he had a good 5 inches on Luke and he looked as strong as a bull. Luke searched frantically for a weapon since his only dagger had been the one he had already thrown. Suddenly a grin formed on his face and he managed to reach over the bar and grab a pan. It was a hilarious image. A young boy facing off with a full grown man, sword versus frying pan. But Luke was faster and in such a constricted space, being smaller was useful. He parry the man's sword with the man before weaving his way towards Raven. He wasn't sure what was happening to her, but he was sure it wasn't good. He found her collapsed on the floor with the man standing over her, one hand on a dagger and the other holding the bleeding wound on his leg.
"I know right? A girl and a kid? How in the world could we be better than you?" Luke called out to get his attention while he stepped in front of Raven. He knew he wouldn't be able to fight them off for long, but he just needed to give Raven time. He held up his frying pan and mustered as brave an expression as he could.

Xwft Raven was defeated and she knew it. Black still invaded her sight her body weak from lack of air and the man in front of her seemed fine if not a little ticked off. But the made a mistake. He played with her. Seeming to find amusement in her pain the didn’t kill her right away. The kept her alive standing triumphantly over her almost like the won the world. And the might have. If the didn’t forget about her companion Luke. Now to say she wasn’t pegging on the fact the noticed something was wrong and came to help would be lying. Because she was. She almost needed Luke to buy her time. So she could oxygenate her blood. And thankfully she was correct on Luke. He noticed and before long was between her and the Man the strangest of weapons raised snide remarks falling out his mouth, like normal. And the called her protective. All this man need was a good smack over the head but no, Luke deliberately got between them. Moving back slowly as to not attract attention however she had a feeling the the sight of Luke would hold his attention quite sufficiently. Once in arms reached, Raven reached out retrieving her bow form the floor. She moved slightly to the side getting into a position where she could shoot still staying low to the floor but now in a crouch. With shaking hands she loaded aimed and fired. Now the tides turned. She made sure it wasn’t a killing shot. Wasting and arrow maybe but something inside her wanted to she him suffer, so the would. It hit his other leg thankfully missing Luke in the process. This time the cried out his legs now unable to hold his weight being one leg had a dagger in it and one with an arrow. Now she would have gladly finished him off but that was for later. Upon hearing their friends cry of pain a few of them decided a headlong rush would be smart.. Raven quickly scrambled to her feet swaying slightly as she stumbled backwards. Without taking anytime to line up her shot Raven just fired hitting one in the shoulder the other shot missing almost hitting someone that was watching this whole ordeal, it was their fault for watching that was their punishment. With quick steps Raven made to Lukes side while the rest of the group hung back clearly deciding a head long rush wouldn’t work. “You might want this.” Raven said handing him over the blade she stole from the ship. “As much as a frying pain might work a blade might be better.” She said flashing him a smile before turning to the situation at hand. They had somehow ended up in the middle of a circle of people. The people they were fighting waving in and out of the crowd making it hard to spot them. But their plan was clear, surround them and attack from all sides. “They don’t play nice to they.” Raven growled. “Any idea or do we just try take them all on.” Raven asked knowing that might not work well. They were highly outnumbered and to make to worse Raven was struggling to keep her body upright. The odds were not in their favour.

Max | 191 comments ((Do we want an injury or not? Like do we want one of the character's to get injured?))

Luke jumped a bit when he felt an arrow whistle past his leg. He had full trust in Raven's ability to aim her arrows where they were supposed to go, but that was a bit too close for his liking. He didn't waste any time when the man collapsed, but did manage to pull Raven's arrow out of his leg. Blood spilled over his hands making them slick with it, but he ignored it and managed to slip it back into her quiver. One of the worst things an archer could do was run out of arrows. He had seen it happen before. They would be so sure that they were going to win a fight, and they would reach back to get an arrow and realize they had run out. He also figured that the man wouldn't be getting up anytime soon, but just in case he smashed him over the head with the frying pan. That would probably keep him knocked out for a while. He gave Raven a grateful smile and took the blade from her. He felt much better having a real weapon with him, but he still didn't drop the pan yet. It was actually a lot more useful than he had expected. His smile faded away quite quickly when he realized that they were totally surrounded. He could tell that Raven was having trouble just standing, and there was only so much he could do with a frying pan and a dagger. He wished desperately that he hadn't gotten Raven involved with this. There was a very big difference between getting yourself killed, and being the reason someone else was killed. Luke wasn't sure if he believed in the afterlife, but he had no doubt that if both he and Raven got killed to day, he would be sent straight to hell. When Raven said something about them not playing nice he had to smile despite the desperate situation.
"Well, we're pirates. Do you play nice?" He asked, shifting so that he and Raven were back to back. It was like the most cliche scene ever. Two people, ready to fight back to back to the very end. In reality though, he just didn't want someone to be able to stab him in the back, and having Raven there lowered the chances of that happening.
"Um..... yeah! I have an idea.... wait, no I don't." He grimaced and looked around the inn, trying to find a way, any way to escape. His gaze flitted from window to window until he saw a door that must lead out to the back of the inn. It was the closest way to escape, and from there, they might be able to find a good hiding place. Leaning in slightly, he kept one eye on the people surrounding on them while turning slightly so he could mutter something to Raven.
"There's a door behind the bar. All we have to do is get there and then run like our lives depend on it... cause they do." He whispered to her. He didn't have time to see if she was good with that plan because the circle of people had begun to close in and he had to turn his full attention back to the fight.

Xwft ((Honestly I think I have done enough damage to poor Raven but if you want Luke to get hurt go for it, It will make Raven feel even worse for starting the whole fight.))

Raven shrugged a smile grin turning up the corners of her mouth. Despite their situation it was entertaining. The sight of a fourteen year old boy dual wielding a frying pan and dagger was a sight to see. It was almost sad they were down to the level that they had to use a frying pan, then again there were no rules on what weapon could be used and what couldn’t. Honestly Raven had used a frying pan before in her early days when she didn’t have a bow, they worked quite well. “As much as I want to say yes I really don’t.” She replied eyeing the ground as the circled around them, none of them wanting to make the first move. Truthfully this was almost like some kind of sick revage the world was giving her for not playing nice. After all it was her fault for making them attack. She was the one that had deliberately riled them up because she was to confident in herself. And look how that worked for her. However now was not the time to dwell on her dumb mistakes. She would do that if they actually lived through this. She felt Lukes back press against hers and the moved so they were back to back. Raven felt that same smile return. This was so cliche that it was insane. Then again this was the first time it had been her and someone else verse a whole group. But in that situation it seemed less cliche being they also had a whole ship on their side fight behind them. Raven really questioned her life as Luke point out a possible escape route, how had Luke realized this and she didn’t she had no idea but she still went with it. It was then Raven made a quick decision. She got him into the situation she would get him out. “You first, i’ll cover you. Just be careful and don’t die.” She said before taking aim and letting go. No one else was making the first shot so she was going to. “Go!” Raven yelled wincing as she found yelling hurt thanks to the guy that tried to kill her. Talking in general hurt but yelling was even worse. Drifting form Lukes back so he could get past her, Raven took another shot once making sure her first arrow stayed true. Her advantage of long range wouldn’t last long, she just hoped Luke would take advantage of it.

Max | 191 comments ((Hehehe... sorry, I want Raven to feel guilty. Even if it's totally not her fault))

Luke held the dagger loosely in one hand as he had been taught to do. If you held a knife too tightly, it meant that your movements were less flexible and easier to block. He had no such training when it came to frying pans though, and he held onto it so tightly that his knuckles were turning white. While his face betrayed no emotion, anyone could see that he was absolutely terrified. His posture was tense, his eyes darted from person to person quickly and his hair was wet with sweat. Luke didn't want to die. He was only 14, and he really really did not have any intention of dying at that age. He still had so much to do! So many ships to raid, so many cute people to meet and flirt with! So much good food! He couldn't die yet. Sometimes Luke wondered if everyone else feared death as much as he did. At night he would lie awake for hours wondering if maybe this would be his last moment on earth, if he might just die in the middle of the night. Of course, he never did and he always felt foolish for being so childlike, but now death was staring him right in the face. This was no dream, or imagination run wild, Luke was going to die here, he was sure of it. But then he saw Raven's smile and he suddenly felt a little bit better. Raven would know how to get them out of this, after all, she always did. When he had panicked on the boat, she had stayed calm, she had to find a way out if this too. The pressure of her back against his was weirdly sturdy and comforting, grounding him from his thoughts about death. He also felt a strange surge of pride when she didn't question his escape plan. Sure, maybe he wasn't the bravest person around but at least he could come up with some half-baked escape plan. He didn't have time to feel anything else though, because he was already running. He felt an arrow whistle past him and into the man beside him, but didn't even turn to look. He was focused only on his escape, and nothing else mattered. One of the men moved in front to stop him, but he swerved past him and slid over the counter top that the bartender was usually at. Just as he reached the safety of the kitchen he felt a flare of pain in his shoulder. It was overwhelming and he staggered a bit before righting his steps and running through the door into the cool night. Blood dripped down the back of his shirt and he winced as the wound sent pulses of pain through his body. He wasn't sure exactly what had hit him, but since he couldn't feel anything actually sticking out of his shoulder blade he figured it must have been a pistol bullet or an arrow that had broken and there was now a fragment of it's head stuck in his skin. He paused for only a moment to make sure that Raven was behind him.

Xwft (( Poor Raven. Oh well now she has an excuse to go all smother mother on him ;-) ))

Like Raven said she would, like she promised she would, She covered Lukes back as he ran. Another arrow found a home when someone tried to step in Lukes path, preventing him from following behind him. She stopped another man in his tracks as he ran for Luke before she was forced to focus on her life rather than his. Focus on her own escape. Luke had made it over the counter it wasn’t far to go from there, Raven had to just hope Luke would be fine. Three of them closed in on her, to close for her bow to do much damage though it still rested in her hands ready to be fired. Knowing there was no chance of her being able to run, Raven waited, waited for them to make the first move. Foolishly they did. Like she predicted they didn’t all move in at once giving her a split second to move out of the circles center. So she did. With speed that seemed to surprise them, Raven darted forwards barely dodging out the way as one took a desperate swipe at her try to prevent her escape. Spinning on her heel, Raven pulled her bow up not bothering to take aim as she let the arrow go. Following her momentum through, she smashed the end of her bow into another's face causing him to stumble backwards. With that, Raven ran. She bolted for the exist keeping an eye out for Luke though she had a feeling he was long gone. She leapt the counter but hesitated to go further. What would stop them from following her? She would just have to fix that. Spinning back around, Raven jumped into the countertop standing tall and fearless like she knew what she was doing. When really she just hoped she wouldn’t be stabbed. The room seemed to stop once seeing her, even the men chasing her. They didn’t expect her to come back or to standing in plain sight as an easy target got as knife throwers. However one quickly recover from his shock and lunged forward. Raven yelped as he gripped her foot pulling down and making her land very painfully on her back. The air escaped her lung that were already gasping to get enough breath. “Seriously.” Raven muttered hooking her hands over the countertop before pulling her foot back and smashing it into the guys face. She did that once more before he got the message and let her go. “Thank you.” Raven snapped going back to standing on her countertop. Taking aim, She pointed her bow to the closest guy, who just happened to be the guy that punched Luke in the first place and help starting this hole thing. “Look.” Raven started her voice raspy thanks to the guy that strangled her. But she got over in, conveying her message. “Unless you want an arrow in you chest I suggest you don’t follow us.” She threaten fully meaning it. She wouldn’t hesitate to to just let go right here right now, she just wasn’t heartless enough to kill him without given him an option. Thankfully he seemed to pick the right answer taking a few steps back to show that he would let her be though his glare stayed unwaveringly on her. She gladly returned the dark look with her own before letting her eyes rome over the battlefield looking for the man the almost killed her. She so badly wanted to serve him justice but couldn’t see him anywhere. Luke had smashed him over the head with his frying pan so she doubted he would be standing any time soon. He might not even live from both wounds her and Luke enficted which brought a twisted feeling of joy to Raven. The deserved every moment of his suffering. If not the next time she saw him the was dead. With that Raven jumped from the contour and broke into a sprint in order to catch up with Luke. As the dark of the night wrapped around her Raven couldn’t help but glance back to the tiny door of light to make sure no one followed. Thankfully they seemed to have taken her words seriously and didn’t follow. More or less feeling safe, Raven slowed her sprint, her breathes coming in gasps. “Luke.” She called out her voice sounding dangerously loud in the quiet of the night. “Luke.” She called again silently begging that he was alive. She would not tolerate it if the died, if the died because of her and her dumb choices.

Max | 191 comments Luke had taken refuge behind a rickety collection of wood that might have once served as a stable. A lot of the old buildings had fallen apart and no one had made the effort to rebuild them. Luckily it provided a rather good cover for anyone who needed to hide. He was sitting sideways against a wall, one shoulder pressed up on the wood while he tried to keep his injured shoulder from brushing against anything. He had been stabbed before, and he had definitely endured a good amount of pain for someone his age, but this was beyond anything he had ever felt before. It was like his entire back was on fire, and every time he so much as breathed, he saw black spots from the pain. When he heard Raven, he let out a sigh of relief. He was more relieved than he wanted to admit when he had heard Raven's voice. The guilt he felt for getting her involved in the first place was overwhelming, and if she hadn't made it out of there alive, he never would've forgiven himself. So when she had called out in the dark, every muscle in his body had relaxed slightly. He was actually amazed that she had managed to get out of there alive. She had been outnumbered 1 to like 5 at least, but he knew he should never underestimate her.
"Yeah. I'm here." He called out, peering out from behind a collapsed window. Every movement sent as spasm of pain through his shoulder and even turning to look for Raven made him gasp a bit in agony. Luke might be good at hiding pain sometimes, but he didn't exactly have a high pain tolerance. So, a bullet to the shoulder wasn't his cup of tea. He shifted slightly so he could look out of the spaces between the window slates better, grunting slightly at the pain. He could just see Raven's outline in the dark, and luckily it didn't look like anyone had followed her. He had figured that they wouldn't be followed if they proved to be too much trouble, but he hadn't been totally sure, so this was a big relief.

Xwft Raven breathed a sigh of relief when she heard Lukes voice. However her relief was short lived when she picked up on the tone of his voice. He might not even realize his tone but Raven picked up on it, on the pain. Her pulse speed up, something wasn’t right. He better be ok. Raven thought to herself, she would never forgive herself if it was bad. It was her fault the got into the war and she knew it. Frantically her eyes scanning the shadows of the area Lukes voice came from. She became slightly panicked when she couldn’t see him and he didn’t say anything more. Going silent, not good. Then movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. A darker shadow against the blackness of the night that was slightly illuminated by the dim light of the moon. Spinning on her heel, Raven squinted into the old building it came from trying to make out the shape, the grip on her bow tightening. Slowly Raven crept towards the shadow curious as to why the figure wasn't moving again to get out her line of sight. That’s the point in time she realised it was Luke, no other person would be sitting and deliberately getting her attention. “Geniuses.” Raven muttered to herself hating the fact she hadn’t noticed sooner, she could have shot him if she hadn’t realised. With one last quick glance behind her to confirm no one was following, Raven darted towards Luke. “It’s just me.” She announced as not to freak him out before slipping through a gap in the broken wooden thing Luke was in. Once in, Raven bent down beside Luke, her eyes instantly going to scanning his body for the wound she knew was there. She wasn’t even worried about herself. Last she checked she was on the verge of death, she was fine, she had a sick feeling Luke was not. Thankfully the moon cast thin rays of light through the gaps in the building lighting everything up enough for her to see the darker red stain on his shoulder. Raven cursed not even trying to hide it despite Luke in front of her. She tried to keep her language down, not just for his sake but just because. However this time she couldn’t help it. “Let me see.” She urgently already moving behind him. Her eyes ran over his blood soaked top most likely a mix of his blood and others blood. Ravens own shoulder tingled seeing his wound. It was the same injury. Bullet to the shoulder with the blood soaking through everything. Raven remember the pain that followed how she had to be carried, she had collapsed and couldn’t even stand herself. She had been through that Luke didn’t need to go through it as well. But here he was the unmistakable look on pain written on his face. He had endured many wounds, she knew that. He wasn’t weak in anyway but she knew a wound like this broke the pain meter completely. The only thing that separated the two wounds was Raven got hers more or less vonatreeily. She got it to stop someone else enduring the pain and maybe even dying because of it. Beside she was light enough to be carried she could risk injury, she could be saved. Luke however got it because she was being an idiot. An idiot with too much pride that didn’t know when to stop. “I’m so sorry Luke. I’m so damn sorry.” She said feeling tears invade her eyes she was just glad she was behind him so the couldn’t see her face. Taking a deep breath Raven focused on fixing him as much as possible. She wasn’t a miracle worked but she was more then willing to try. Her words would do nothing now. “Take your top off so I can see. You got anything in your bag to help or do I have to do a shop raid?” Rave said fully prepared to break into a building just for Luke. She was fully prepared to do anything for him right now. She owed him her anything. She owed him her life.

Max | 191 comments Luke tried to stay as alert as he could when he heard soft footsteps coming towards him. He still couldn't see who it was and while he was pretty sure it was Raven, he didn't want to take any chances. Shrinking into the shadows he watched as the figure got closer and closer. He knew that if it wasn't Raven, he would have absolutely no chance of fighting anyone else off. He couldn't even fathom the idea of reaching for the dagger that lay next to him. If breathing made his shoulder hurt, he couldn't imagine the pain he would feel if he had to pick up that knife. Not that he would be able to use it anyways, not with a bullet in his shoulder. Luckily he recognized Raven's voice and breathed a sigh of relief before gasping again in agony. Of course, the gasp only made it hurt even more, but it had just been a natural reaction.
"I can't believe you actually made it out!" He exclaimed heavily through gritted teeth. He really was still amazed that she had managed to make it out of there alive. It wasn't every day someone beat the odds of 1 to 7. He looked behind at her to see what she was doing until he realized that she was looking at his shoulder with a crumpled look on her face. How could she feel bad about this? It was totally completely his fault. If he hadn't gotten her involved, if he hadn't punched the guy in the first place when he was with Nancy, none of this would've happened. But Raven was acting like it was her fault that he had gotten shot. It wasn't like she had been in charge of his actions. She couldn't have made him move any faster, or jump a bit to the right so the bullet had missed, so he didn't understand why she seemed to be so angry with herself. It also was sort of hilarious in a weird way. She had been half as worried when they were surrounded and had a 99% chance of dying, but now was the time she actually freaked out.
"Not your damn fault." He replied wryly with as much humor as his voice could hold. Which really wasn't much. He couldn't keep his voice from cracking slightly as tears leaked out from his eyes. He hadn't even been aware that he had been crying before until he tasted the salt from the tears rolling down his cheeks. He sniffled slightly and tried to stop himself from crying. Raven was also crying, and one of them had to stop, so he figured it would be him. Even the simple act of sniffling made his shoulder scream in pain. When she asked him to take his shirt off he made a little squeaking sound in the back of his throat. That was going to hurt like crazy. But after a moment of hesitation, he nodded and pulled the shirt over his head as quickly as possible. He couldn't help bu whimper a bit as it brushed his wounded shoulder, but finally got it off.
"I- have... some bandages..." He managed to grit out, glancing at his bag. He was most terrified for the fact that she would probably have to dig the bullet out of his shoulder. He had never had it done to him, but he had seen it done to other people and it looked terrible. Most of the time they but the blade in fire to sterilize the wound and seal it closed when they dug the bullet out and just thinking about it made Luke nauseous.

Xwft “Glad to know you had faith in me.” Raven replied knowing neither of them could really joke at a time like this but it didn’t stop her trying. Then her mind ruined to moment. She hadn’t really payed attention to the odds at the time but Luke was right, she was lucky. Lucky she was alive let along moistly uninjured. Just like every main character in everything, they always lived no matter the odds. It was their friends who died. They died to spark something in the main character. Raven chewed on her lip mentally kicking herself for again thinking the worst, but she couldn’t help it. If she had just been smart enough to know who was the real threat and shot the person with the gun Luke would be ok right now. Or if she hadn’t teased the guy the might not have come back in the first place. If Raven hadn’t been to full of herself then this wouldn't have happened. Despite what Luke said she knew it was her fault. He might have punched the guy ages ago, that she could let him take the blame for, she wasn’t even there. But this time she was the one that riled they guy up. He had backed down. She didn’t. Luke couldn’t deny that.

Raven cringed at his pained sounds. She didn’t want to hear them. She didn’t want Luke to make them. Raven bit down harder on her lip in order to stop the tears she also knew were falling down Lukes own cheeks. Raven had no reason to have tears. Luke did. She had to be strong for Luke. Like she did when Nancy got hurt after they saved him. She had to be his anchor to the real world. At his protest against her blame Raven just bite her tongue. It was her fault and she knew it all to well but she wasn’t about to put up a fight about it. Now wasn’t the time. Raven couldn’t help but turn away as Luke pulled his top off. She only realized after she asked how much it would hurt, which in a way made Raven feel even worse. To make herself busy, Raven dug through his bag trying to find the things he said he had. With careful hands Raven moved everything out his bag handling them with care. Even though they knew each other quite well it still felt wired going through his stuff. So she made sure to be careful until she found what she was looking for.

She pulled the bandages out and a thing of water, putting them aside so she could repack everything. That's when the Dagger caught her eye. It lay discard in the dust the moonlight catching the blade. She dug through Lucks bag some more before finding stuff to make a fire. Raven silently cursed and her poor lip got attacked by her teeth again. Raven swallowed the lump the had risen in her throat as she glanced back and the bullet wound a sudden realization dawning over her. The bullet had to come out. The mere thought of it made her sick. And judging by the look on Lukes face her also came to that some conclusion. Raven hesitated before making up her mind. She couldn’t do that to Luke, she couldn’t make herself dig around with the knife under his skin. That was just not an option. Raven left his stuff where it was and moved over to his back clutching the bandages in her fist. “Hold still this will hurt.” Raven said tipping some water on the bandages before wrapping them tightly around the wound. She hated pulling it tight like she did but the more pressure applied to the wound the better.

Once the wound was decently covered Raven stood, backing away slightly. She eyed her work but knew it wouldn’t last long blood was already seeping through. “That will have to do.” Raven muttered before moving back pulling everything from Lukes bag again and slinging over her own shoulder. She had made sure everything of Lukes was in a neat pile but she needed his bag. Taking a deep breath Raven looked to Luke. “I’ll be back… Just don’t move.” Raven said. She new Luke wouldn’t approve what what she was planning on doing so she didn't elaborate. Not that it would matter,he wasn’t going to stop her. Raven was set on doing this, she couldnot hurt Luke without at least trying to help the pain. With her she was lucky enough to pass out as the bolt was dug from her shoulder but Luke was more then awake right now. And she wasn’t about to knock him out. She had done enough damage to him. “Right, won't be long.” Raven said before slipping out hole and entering the street before Luke could say anything. Clutching the bag strap tighter, Raven took a deep breath and walked off into the night heading towards the closet medicine shop.

Max | 191 comments Luke was hardly paying attention to what Raven was saying, since all he could think about was the pain that was coming off of his back in endless waves of total agony. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he felt embarrassed about not wearing a shirt in front of Raven. Of course, it wasn't anything to be embarrassed about but like most teenagers, Luke often got a bit self conscious about random things. Letting go of that thought, he watched Raven go through his bag to try and find the bandages. There wasn't many valuable items in it, and it was mostly food and a water canteen for while he was on the road. Of course he did also have his sketch pad and some charcoal. Those might not be valuable for selling but they were the most important things Luke had ever owned. He greatly appreciated the care she was giving when she was unpacking it, so he stopped worrying about her accidentally ripping a page or something in the sketch book. Despite how gentle she was being with everything, Luke couldn't help but feel a little bit relieved when she finally found the bandages. He didn't usually worry so much about his stuff, but it felt nice to be able to worry about something as trivial as a bag. When you had a bullet in your shoulder, any other problem was a relief.

Of course, that was also when Raven noticed the dagger. He saw her look at it, and then look back at him. She had finally figured out what she was going to do. Luke wondered if it was possible somehow to let a wound heal over a bullet. He knew that it was possible, and never ended well, but at the moment he would rather do anything than have her dig around under his skin with a knife. So when she looked at him like that he immediately started shaking his head vehemently.
"No way. You are not going to stab me with that thing." He said angrily. Or at least, he was trying to sound angry, but the tone that came out was pleading. He was willing to beg Raven not to do this to him, and Luke never begged. So when she didn't end up picking up the knife, and instead went for the bandages and the water he breathed a sigh of relief. The next few things she did were unbelievably painful, but nothing compared to getting a dagger under your skin. When the water came into contact with the wound Luke couldn't help but gasp a little and try to move away from her. He knew that he needed to stay still if she was going to do this right, but all of his instinct were telling him to get as far away from her as possible. That was the problem with human instincts. His body knew he was in pain, and knew that Raven was making it even more painful, but it hadn't realized that she was also going to be the one to fix it all. Bracing himself for the next spasm of pain, Luke clenched his fists and waited for her to finish cleaning the wound. By the time she was putting the bandages on, Luke had stopped wincing or giving short gasps of pain. Instead his eyes were closed tightly and he was whispering something under his breath, a prayer of some sort. He focused on the words he was saying ferociously like they could somehow save him for the pain.

By the time she was finished, he was blinking in and out of consciousness. Vaguely he saw Raven move away from him and grab his bag from the ground.
"Whatrr you doin?" He managed to slur out. The pain and the exhaustion that had just hit him made it seem impossible for him to even open his mouth and speak properly. He heard her explain that she was leaving for a while and protested as loudly as he could. He didn't want her to leave, not now. Shifting slightly to look at her with a frightened look on his face. Being alone in the dark without any ability to protect himself scared him. Luke felt like a little child again, needing protection. But she left anyways, and he was left alone in the little wood shack. Eventually he slipped into a relief-filled unconsciousness.

Xwft Raven bolted through the quiet streets forcing her body to move as fast as possible. She had started running at this pace as soon as she left Luke. She remembered his pleas as he begged her not to leave. His words echoed in her head as she sprinted through the airy streets, them being her only motivation to keep up this pace. She didn’t want to leave Luke yet she couldn’t see any other way. He didn’t want her to dig the bullet out, and she didn’t want to dig it out herself, but he also didn’t want her to leave. Luke had backed her into a hard position and Raven didn’t like it. Whatever she did it felt like she was betraying him. She had done enough damage to him, she hated the thought of doing more. But she told herself she knew what she was doing. Told herself this was for the better. So just kept the sprint up no matter how tired her legs got.

Raven slowed to a walk as she came to her stop. A large sign reading Medicine hug lifelessly in the dead night air. Ravens legs were shaking from the head long sprint she had just endured but she forced herself forward, walking towards the large wooden door blocking her from the things Luke needed. Taking a deep breath, Raven pulled an arrow from her quiver before snapping it in half. She had done this before and as long as it was a similar lock it would be fine. Stilling her shaking hands, Raven went to opening the lock hoping against hope that it worked. She had not back up plain other then barking the glass but she didn't really want to do that. She would attract to much attention she didn't want. Once in the only problem was if there was anything guarding the place. She wasn’t really wanting to kill anything but she guessed she might not get a choice. it was kill of be killed. With some thing so important as herbs there was bound to be something guarding.

After about a minute of fiddling with the dumb thing the lock fell away with a satisfying click. Raven breathed a sigh of relief as she used quite hands to open the door a crack pulling her bow out with the other hand. Silently Raven slipped through the door shutting it behind her. She only managed to take one step before a low growl echoed through the still air. Without hesitation Raven loaded her bow waiting to it to show itself. She knew they would likely have a dog as guard, Raven had come prepared for that. Problem was Raven could only see a few meters in front of her thanks to the darkness of the night. However the dog could see just fine and didn’t take long to find her. With the low growl still filling the air, the dog stepped into the moonlight with a deadly glare to its eyes, it’s lips curled back to revel it’s teeth. There was a tease moment when they just stayed still watching each other before the both took aim. It ran at her. Raven pulled her bowstring back. “I’m sorry.” She whispered before letting her arrow fly and diving to the side, a high pitched whimper being the only thing indicated her shot hit. “I’m sorry.” Raven repeated but they were just words that could do nothing to the dying animal beside her. This is all for Luke. She told herself and somehow that made it better. She was more than prepared to kill for Luke. Spinning on her heel, Raven turned away focusing on the task at hand. Finding something for Luke.

Casting on last looked around the small building to make sure she had got everything, Raven walked out, a fully loaded bag swinging by her hip as she did so. She had quite literally grabbed everything. She had at least one of everything that was in this building. She had no idea what any of it was but just hoped something would help somehow. Raven had also be careful to cover her tracks. She had moved the body of the bog further to the back and even taken the arrow form it but she hadn't returned it to her quiver. She couldn't bring herself to do that. She’d also made sure to make it look like she hadn’t taken anything but she was sure that of they looked close they would tell. But that was all Raven could do, she had already left Luke to long. Just to cover her tracks even more, Raven locked the door again being she hadn’t actually damaged the lock. With that Raven turned and ran clutching the newly filled bag tightly in her hand. She just hoped this was all worth it.

As she ran Raven past a clothes shop. Now she told herself now was not the time but she did anyway. Both of their clothes were tattered and torn. And beside if she could use some as bandages or whatever. Thankfully this lock was easy to pick and there was nothing guarding. Clothes weren’t important enough to get a dog for. Now this would be her dream if she wasn't it in such a rush. If there was one thing similar about Raven and the town girls it would be their love for shopping. Raven couldn’t help it. However that was one thing her told herself no on. She promised herself she would get back to Luke within the hour and by her guess she was pushing it. So without pay much attention, Raven grabbed a few things she thought would work and shoved them into the already overflowing bag. Good thing was fabric could fold into any shape. Once the bag couldn’t take anymore, Raven left locking the door behind her as she did so. Now she really needed to get back to Luke. Hefting the bag onto her shoulder Raven broke into a full speed sprint.

The sun was slowly lighting the sky with a light blue glow when Raven made it back to Luke. The last run had taken longer than she thought being she had a full bag that was weighing her down all the while it was threatening to drop everything she pack into it. But she had made it. “It’s just me” She announced breathlessly as she slipped back inside. “Luke you still hear.” She called out in a whisper. She begged for a reply but had a feeling she wouldn’t get one. She had taken ages, longer than she wanted, so Luke was probably in some form of sleep. With silent footsteps Raven made her way to Luke's side dumping the bag softly to the floor and pulled the bow from her back to give her aching shoulder a rest. “Luke.” She repeated gently placing a hand on the bare skin of his good shoulder. “Hey I need to awake for this.” She whispered gently. She didn’t want to do anything more then talk to wake him in case she hurt him. She knew from experience that any movement hurt so that was the last thing she wanted to do. Being she already had to dig out the bullet and that was enough. However she hoped that something she got would help. She didn’t know medicine very well but she hoped Luke did. If not she just had to make it up and hope.

Max | 191 comments Luke's sleep had been a haze of red tinged pain and betrayal. At first, he had fallen into a comfortable darkness. It wrapped him up in a warm sleep that let him finally let go of the pain that was surging through his body with every breath. But after what seemed like just a few moments of relief, he had started to dream. He had been dreaming Raven, and his brother. In his dream him, Raven and Alec were all walking down a path towards a dock where a Navy ship bobbed gently in the water. Luke had slowed when he saw that they were headed straight towards it, but when he tugged gently on Raven's shirt to get her attention, she didn't even turn to look at him. Suddenly one of the sailors on the ship brought a pistol up and shot it. Pain tore through Luke's shoulder and he collapsed to the ground. He couldn't think straight but he did know that neither Raven or Alec stopped to help him. In fact, Raven just turned her head and whispered something into Alec's ear, and his brother laughed in response. Luke couldn't believe it. The two people he trusted most and they were walking away from him in his time of most need. He watched from his slumped position on the ground as his brother helped Raven onto the Navy ship, still laughing. There was blood pouring out of his shoulder and it ran down the cobblestone and into the water. When it did, the water sizzled and turned red as blood. No one seemed to notice though and Luke just screamed and screamed, begging Raven to come back. But she just smiled at him and disappeared below deck.

Somewhere in the back of his mind he heard someone calling to him. Pulling him away from his dream where he lay on the dock bleeding out. But he was too far into his dream to wake up now and he tossed his head slightly in his sleep but didn't wake up. Only when Raven put a hand on his shoulder did his eyes slide open. Her hands were cold against his feverish skin and he looked up at her with a blank gaze. He was so exhausted and nauseous that it took him a while to realize who was standing in front of him. Finally recognition flickered through his eyes and he let out a breath he hadn't realized he had been holding.
"Raven." He croaked out, his mouth feeling as dry as a desert.
"You came back." His voice was slowly growing stronger but it still came out as a harsh whisper. He hadn't exactly thought that Raven was actually leaving him forever. But with the dream still fresh in his mind and the fact that he was half delirious was making him believe things that weren't true.

He noticed his bag next to her, now filled to the brim with new stuff. Out of the top, some fabric peaked out of it and Luke looked at Raven with an uncertain smile.
"You brought clothing? I've always wanted to dress like a gentleman." His eyes shone with pained amusement, but he hoped that clothing wasn't all that she had gotten. He didn't know where she had gone, but if she had left it must have been for something more important than clothing.
"Why do I need to be awake?" He asked slowly. He could already feel his eyes beginning to close again. His body wanted to focus on healing his wound, not on staying awake. But Raven had said that she needed him to be awake so he struggled against the wave of exhaustion that threatened to wash over him.
