I am making this thread so we can discuss all about TV Series. You can talk about everything and anything you want about TV Series, like the TV Series your watching these days, your favourite TV Series.......etc

So i am watching "Hannibal" these days, am on the second half of the first season but i found out that the series is based on movies which in turn are based on novels. So i am thinking of reading the novels then watching the movies and then eventually watching the TV Series.

I have just recently watched the whole "Dexter" series and really liked it and am planing on getting my hands on the novels.

I have also recently seen and loved the "Sherlock (2010)" series before which i knew nothing about sherlock other than the fact that iron man guy had played some detective on some detective movie called "Sherlock..something.." :)

I didn't like Dexter either. Too gory for my taste. Hannibal lector was my most favorite villain until Joker came along. The movies were brilliant. But the novels are awesome! You'd find symbolism and literary language. Not your run of the mill thriller. I haven't seen many people who have read 70's and 80's pulp fiction, except The Godfather.
@Steady reader - i love Supernatural. Been a fan since season one. You're right, it lost some charm in the middle but came back with a bang.

i have seen a couple of seasons of supernatural and liked it. I really liked the episode "the french mistake"

@supernatural finale was just awesome the one just ended looking forward to next season. my favorite was. Lucifer one and Lavithan one.

@Steadyreader, Everyone is saying how awesome "GOT" is but i have to find out by myself. i have read a few pages of the book though.

GOT is awesome. seriously, it is the only show that has the guts to kill off its main characters! You simply MUST watch it. My favorite episode was, obviously, The Rains Of Castamere.

P.S. You may get a bit confused in the beginning due to the abundance of characters. But don't give up. GOT is totally worth it!!

But don't worry. There are five or six main characters (there isnt one single main character). So you wont know which one I mean :-P

Shaizab: Breaking bad is a good season but i very slow. If you have the patience for it then go for it.

big bang theory and melisa and joey are the kind of seasons u can never get enough of. they are awesone.....steady reader u should also watch last man standing

For me Supernatural is the best tv series ever <3 n i like suits too ;)

some seasons of supernatural were awesome while others were boring. and suits is one of the best seasons I have ever seen.

@Maira and @steady reader: you're right about big bang theory. Haven't watched Melissa and Joey though.
@Aleesha- yes, supernatural is absolute entertainment! I like Crowely way more than Lucifer. And Suits is really good.

@Maira, it's Shahzaib n i have seen the whole BB series, i absolutely loved it. It's one of my favourites. I was only asking if somebody else here had seen it.

@Shehzad n @ Steadyreader, NAH KARO ! PTV peh X-files :) It's sad that our generation which was brought up in the time when tv cable in homes were common knows nothing about PTV

I totally love Big bang Theory, follow it regularly. Can't wait to know what happens with Sheldon next season.

Steady reader: Prime time on PTV ka apnna he mazza tha. The anticipation of that specific time in the evening was epic. :)

Has anyone here seen Prison break>? It is an AWESOME season. Those who haven't seen it. This season is highly recommended and is the full package for action, thrill, suspense and PRISON politics. It is just epic.

@Maira- totally agree. I remember anticipation! The incredible hulk, automan, manimal, the highway man...series this generation's kids will never know about.
and yes i've watched Prison Break. You should watch Shawshank Redemption, if you haven't already.

You guys should watch Bones too. It is really good. Also Spartacus is also a good season. More like Got in action But the story is different

Oh my god, you guys just made me wish that i was born in the 90's. But then i wouldn't even know how to read a book lol :-P

@Shahzaib Stopped watching it mid season 4. Season 3 was an absolute rollercoster ride, but thought season 4 was/is a bit stale, might catch up on it later. Any one watched Community or Orange Is The New Black?

I too stopped watching ever since the episode in which Daryl n beth burned the cabin down, it has been too boring to digest after that.

I have seen first six or so episodes of orange is the new black

steadyreader....bones is an awesome season. I am on 6 season....castle got boring after 4th season.

I followed walking dead for a little while but then it got boring and I lost interest.

a quick question for anyone who has watched Game Of Thrones, should i read the book first before watching the TV Series or not ?

No need to read the books. I watched the TV show before reading the first book. The TV show follows the books pretty closely. But the books give you added information about the characters history, thought process and motives. So it was nice for me to relive the first series from a different angle.

If only penny dreadful was a comedy. it would have been the greatest show in the time of all history.

Shazaib, i think you should read the books first. And here's why: GOT the series are only about violence and nudity but on the other hand, the book is all about the political plot and an awesome suspense.

Note: the book do have violence and "s" but it is very brief. While in the show if you cut the scenes of a episode it would be only 15 minutes long. Not sure how maira got through a whole season ;-) or maybe i should ask her: how long did it take her to complete an episode ;-)

I am watching Hannibal, it is slow but awesome. The atmosphere and feel of the show is good too. Do watch Silence of lambs.
other than Hannibal, i am watching FRIENDS. one of the best comedy show ever.

@Arbaaz- i mean it was okay. It started off like GOT , killing off a character we were led to believe was the hero.

@Maham- lol i was the same. The aired the show in Urdu as well. I vividly remember that episode...the guy eats liver and goes in hibernation for 35 years, he can squeeze himself through small holes. Those were the days...
