I saw it last night too and the special effects were absolutely incredible (I saw it in 3D and it was amazing). The plot seemed a little weak at times but if I know JK Rowling, the next movies will elaborate on the plot and we see the full complication of everything. I loved all the characters and am excited to see more of them.

Just saw it, and it was amazing! I really feel proud to be a Hufflepuff because of Newt.

He was also my favorite!

Ravenpaw/claw~Alas! Earwax! You're just as sane as I am (-Luna Lovegood) wrote: "Ikr! I loved it SO MUCH!!! My family didn't like it that much...but I enjoyed it so much! Can't wait to see it again!"
I know, my family didn't like it as much as I did but I went back and saw it a second time with some of my friends and they loved it.

Overall I thought the movie was AMAZING. I saw it on opening night and the cinema was almost empty, to my surprise. I laughed through a lot of it whilst other people stared at me like I was some kind of maniac. There were lots of funny, LOL bits, most including Jacob the no-maj, who was probably my favourite Character. I liked Newt, too. It was cool to see wizards interacting with no-maj's or muggles like they did. And I love Newt's briefcase! I want to live inside that case and ride away on the stunning thunderbird and chase the niffler until he confesses and gives me all the jewels he has stolen. If you don't watch this movie it is your loss, one of the best films I've seen since Deathly Hallows part 2 (which is a huge compliment-even though I've mostly seen kids movies because of my siblings)
And I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the sequel!!
4.5/5 stars.

Also makes me curious over the origin of the word muggle for ordinary folk. It is not as universal a term as I had thought.
The move also has the great HP quality of being watchable again and again, good news for future marathons

And the effects were just fantastic! ;)
