It has two authors who were pen pals growing up, the basis of the story, but there is a third person too (person a and person b "with" person c). Does her presence disqualify this book?

Would When Breath Becomes Air work for Book 2? Abraham Verghese is listed as the author of the Foreword, but the book is written by Paul Kalanithi, with the Epilogue by his wife. The book is about Paul's life before and after his terminal cancer diagnosis.
