question
Does this final book have a satisfying ending?

Lately I have been finishing series that do not have a good ending and are just terrible. Please let me know

I was content with how it ended, but did feel like this book stretched too thin amongst the numerous subplots. It left me wishing an entire (giant) subplot could have been removed and made into its very own book.
Still, Taylor's world building and characters (Oh, sweet Ziri!) are beautiful and compelling in DoG&M.

I was satisfied with the ending, but it could've been better. Instead of the epilogue being only a little bit after i would've liked a 5 years later. Then within that maybe Karou and Akiva would get married or have kids (sorry for the spoilers if you haven't read it yet)
SPOILER
Well, the thing I loved about DoSaB was Karou's life in Prague as an artist. I hoped she would somehow end up there but going back to Eretz to revive the chimaeras. The whole leaving-earth-becoming-chimaera-dissing-my-old-life felt a little strange for me. Also, for me Karou is NOT Madrigal and I'd like to see some sort of comparison between the human and the chimaera. But I loved the plot, the characters and the writing.

I was really disappointed with the ending. I mean, after all that buildup that is how the book ended? seriously?
Also, I don't know why Laini Taylor added that veil subplot. I really felt that it was unnecessary and it did nothing but lengthen the book. I think she could have written a fourth book instead of cramming all of that into one book. It would have saved us all from trouble of reading such a long book.

Yes and no. The one thing I didn't like was (SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER!) the news that a war with the Nithilam may or may not happen. The veil was said to be healing with Akiva and Eliza in the Far Isles, so maybe Eretz is safe...but Eliza chose some godstars to fight the Nithilam, so maybe not...if that's the case, there needs to be a fourth book! But I read that the author is done with this series, and that is why I am unsatisfied with the ending.
SPOILERS! I was disappointed. I loved the first book so much, Karou's life in Prague, her friendships, the world of the Chimaera, the magic with the teeth, and the second book was so full of drama and suspense and twists. I felt in this last book all the plots unraveled a bit too quickly, they defeated Jael and his army too easily, the fallout of the appearance and rapid disappearance of the angels on Earth was not really explored, the appearance of the new characters and new plotline concerning the other fallen angel felt like it had been a convenient throw in to tie everything up nicely. I wanted more, more magic, more background, more romance. I wanted to hear more about the stelians and what they had been fighting, these dark consuming monsters which we hear nothing about until this very last book. It just felt a bit rushed and empty. Maybe there will be sequels and prequels to fill in the gaps, I hope so.
I know it's been a different story for different people so I can only say I, personally, didn't care for the ending of this trilogy.
I am such a huge fan of the first two books of the series but the last one... I hated it ! I. HATED. IT. I simply couldn't get into the book, so many new characters appeared, so many unusful descriptions and the relationship between akiva and karou was definitely not as good as it could have been. Big deception for me
Not to give spoilers but this is one of very few book series that I have read where I was legitimately satisfied with the ending and how the story wraps up. It leaves little room for wanting, other than perhaps a wee bit more where some of the subplots are concerned in this book. All in all, thoroughly satisfied.
The ending was like a grand finally i loved it so much and i really wish there was a spinoff series where we could get to know more about The Godstars and what happens. But overall i enjoyed the very much...
I was satisfied with how it ended. Everything was wrapped up, no random story lines were left hanging.
I think that it should have been more finished SPOILERS and was more detailed with the relationship between akiva and karou after they meet up in the end
It had too much going on for one book, she could easily have included the whole Godstars thing somewhere else. I did like the ending with them together, it made my heart kind of warm. It's ok but not my favorite ending.
If you're partially alluding to the Divergent series, which I loved in the beginning but loathed at the end, this series wraps up SO MUCH BETTER. I mean, Allegiant wishes it could be this good.
I have also been having that problem recently! Without giving away any details, I think this series ends pretty well - I walked away from the book pretty satisfied with how everything turned out. Hope that helps!
Yep agree with Kim completely I don't want to give anything away but happy with how this ends
