Day 1: December 3rd
- Reach chapter 6 (page 51) of Lyra
- Reach chapter 6 (page 61) of Gemma

Day 2: December 4th
- Reach chapter 9 (page 94) of Lyra
- Reach chapter 9 (page 126) of Gemma

Day 3: December 5th
- Reach chapter 12 (page 165) of Lyra
- Reach chapter 12 (page 196) of Gemma

Day 4: December 6th
- Reach chapter 14 (page 204) of Lyra
- Reach chapter 14 (page 228) of Gemma

Day 5: December 7th
- Finish remainder of Lyra (around 30 pages)
- Finish remainder of Gemma (around 60 pages)

Obviously, this does not have to be followed but this will make it easier to stay on top of our reading and to make comments regarding the book.

*I will be alternating chapters (Read 1 of Lyra, 1 of Gemma, repeat, etc.) but you can also read one full POV before reading the other if you would like. :)

We'll have to decide how to read this one! Some people alternate chapters and others will read one full POV of the story and then go back and read the other POV. I'm wondering which would be best....

If you have the book, you can decide for us because I don't have it yet and I'm sure either way will be fine with Trisha too.

I did some researching and most people recommend reading one chapter from one POV and then alternating POV chapters.

Yeah, we can set up a reading schedule....I don't have to book yet (it's being sent to me) so I'm not sure how we're breaking it down

anyone have it that wants to set one up? I'm totally open to how we read it!

I'm not sure but I think Jacquelyn has the book already, but I don't.

I have class tonight but I can make a schedule either when I get home or tomorrow once I get home from school. :) I'm so excited for this one!

I just posted a tentative reading schedule in message 1 of this post... Some days it's quite a bit so obviously it doesn't have to be followed and we can stretch it out a bit longer but I thought that would be a good starting point. The font looks to be pretty big so this should be a quick read despite its length. :)

Vicki, I'm sure too! Without it, it probably looks confusing but it makes much more sense with the physical copy! Good thing this is one you aren't reading as an ebook. :D

My book is due on November 28, so I will just stalk this post. I am reading it altering the POVs and it seems to be the best way to go.

I'd really like to join you all reading this one if its okay! I have it downloaded, not the physical version, but haven't opened it yet to see if its set up differently.

I think I am going to be the only one bucks against the schedule and will read it as one POV and then a 2nd POV

so I will probably update at the same spots, just one POV at a time!

It will be interesting to see if this changes the feel of the book.... :)

How will you know if it has changed the feel of the book if you have only read it one way?

I'm hoping to compare our experiences - as we discuss and to see how we rate it.

If you guys update separately for each POV, then I will update the same time for the same name and we'll see what we both think as we're going a long :)

There's actually the same explanation on both sides but I think either way you start should be perfectly fine!

My book only has the explanation on the Gemma side.
the Lyra side just jumps right into Lyra....I wonder if someone stole a page?

Jake(view spoiler)[ I feel like, just by her last name, he secretly knows who she is even though he didn't even flinch or act like he recognized her name. but he would have to - with all his dad knew about that company. I mean, her dad co-founded it right? and then broke off because of this island. (hide spoiler)]

I wonder if that's Lyra's problem... if they are "infecting" her with whatever the other guys were talking about... if that's what they do with their non-replica kids..... (hide spoiler)]

WOW(view spoiler)[ So I looked at the conversation from Gemma's POV and Lyra's POV from Chapter 10 - and YES, Lyra's POV had a lot more details. Gemma's stopped before letting us know what they are doing to the replicas. how awful. to grow and harness a poison inside of them :(
but why steal kids AND make replicas?? to see how it affects each of them? Poor Lyra. she's been sick because they made her sick (hide spoiler)]

I liked this side of the book much much more than the first side
however, I like the way I read it - starting with Gemma
