Hey yall! I am a senior Bobcat at Texas State (1 more semester to go!)! I work full time and I'm in class full time. I'm going to be a student teacher next semester at Judson HS, but will still be living in San Marcos. I love to read all kinds of books and right now trying to do the Gilmore Challenge. When not reading I'm either studying or sleeping. I don't really get out much either.

Hi Cassandra, I'm Lee. I'm a retired programmer/analyst who grew up and worked in the Panama Canal Zone. I spent three years in the Army in the 8th Special Forces Airborne as a demolitionist in an A Team. After the Army I graduated Texas A&M in 1967. I returned to the Canal Zone where I apprenticed as a programmer.
My wife and I retired in New Braunfels, Texas.
I am an avid reader. I read histories, biographies and science fiction. I published a book on kindle called The Travelers. It starts off in the 1970s Canal Zone and ends up in 1870 Colorado. The strong characters are female.
I recommended James Clavell's Shogun to Kandra. It is about a 16th century Englishman ship wrecked in Japan. It is a tremendous adventure and love story. I believe you can find it in the half price book store in San Marcos. I have read it twice and it was made into a mini series.
If you are an adventurous spirit, look into the Dept of Defense Dependent Schools. These schools teach the children of GIs overseas. They pay well and are all over the world, Germany England, Italy to name a few. Look up DODDS on the Internet.
Lee
PS DODDS is now DODEA. Here is a link:
http://www.dodea.edu
It is a great organization for teachers who want the adventure of living in another country.
