Hello Jenny, thanks so much for starting this group - what a brilliant idea. Have you got a link to the complete list anywhere?
You're quite welcome, and no I don't, but all except the comedy folder have a link to the list by genera that's here on Goodreads. I am planning to give each book it's own thread as well. I am working on Comedy, which is why I deleted the list for it,
Yea, I figured that group reads would be a good way to get through the list! Fell free to nominate one if you have not yet!
Hi, great idea. Can you bookshelf the list so it can identify from our own shelves if we have read? Looking forward to the journey, although not sure if I'll make it before.... Anyway looking forward to great reads and comments from everyone. I'm not a natural classic reader and some may be a bit too expensive for Kindle UK, but let's do it.
If you look on the lists here on goodreads, it will show next to it if you have shelved it as anything, Wend

Wend, you're welcome and yes it is a lot of work, As you can see, I am about halfway through the second genera I am working on. It also does not help that the list here on goo dreads is wrong sometimes. Harry Potter was under Love and should have been Sci Fi
Janine wrote: "Hello! Excited to join the group -- although 1000 books does feel very daunting!"Welcome to the group Janine -- book by book, we will get through it. One thing is for sure, if we never start we will never finish.
Janine- Sorry, I missed your comment! Welcome to the group and some of the "books" are short stories, or shorter novels.
Yay!! I didn't realize the group was new! So does that mean I'm not behind? : ) I have always been a reader, but adult life stuff sometimes gets in the way. For the last year I have been challenging myself to read more, and I'm excited about this group as further incentive.
Sharon, yes we just started, December is our first group read month, the poll opens at 9 tonight.
Thank you for all your work, Jenny. It makes it easier to find books, and thank you for putting books in the proper categories.
You're quite welcome Rosemarie, and I hope everything is right. I am just going by the goodreads lists right now, but I had to look up Harry Potter cause I knew it should not go in Love at all... and nope, it is, of course, Sci Fi and Fantasy! If y'all notice anything wrong, please let me know and I will fix it!
Just realized that I never said hello to the group. Hi, All! Looking forward to more great discussions as we work our way through the lists!
Hello all, I'm Paula from North Wales (UK). I'm not a particularly fast reader but my taste is quite eclectic, so I will very much enjoy immersing myself in this reading list. I posted a list of previously read titles under the appropriate headings - although, it looks quite paltry compared to many others in this group. I have also selected a mere 10 new books from the lists for 2017 (talk about snail's pace). So far I have read only one title this year. I look forward to discussing books with you.
Welcome, Paula. I like the diversity of books on this list- so many books to choose from. It's fun.

Welcome Paula! Sorry I did not see your post before! Any books are good to start with, which ten do you have on your list for this year?
Jenny wrote: "Welcome Paula! Sorry I did not see your post before! There are so many titles from which to choose that I have decided to select as I go - according to my reading mood. So far I have read two novels from the lists since starting: (Slaughterhouse-Five and Les Enfants Terribles). This morning I started Flaubert's Parrot. I suppose I am indulging in something of a mystery read for this challenge!
Hi :)This group looks a great idea - I love seeing how many I complete on 'Best of...' & 'Before you die' lists.
I own books that cover '1001 comics / books / movies / graphic novels' already and like to mark them off as I go (I'm a Capricorn so I'm a list maker!)
I don't often get around to reading classics so I'm hoping this group will 'kick-start' my reading into a new direction :)

Hello Dawn, great to meet you. :-)
I was wondering if it's possible to have a 'reading room' set up for me so I can keep track of titles I've already read in the past, and ones I'll be reading in the future? They look like really good ideas!
Cheers :)
Rosemarie wrote: "I just set it up for you, Dawn, Just check under Reading Rooms."Great! Thanks a lot Rosemarie.
I'll soon be able to see just how few I've read! Lol
Kandice wrote: "Hello everyone. How are you all doing?"Hello Kandice. Great to meet you. I am fine, thank you, and very much enjoying being a part of this group. Hope you like it too.
Welcome Kandice. I am doing ok on the challenge, I have read 9 books from the list this year and am reading 2 right now.
I didn't go by the list. I am kind of a "take the less traveled path" kind of person. Right now I'm on a series called Seven Wonders. It's very interesting.
Flaubert's Parrot
completed and enjoyed. I am going off-list with my next book: Xingu by Edith Wharton (a mere 26 pages long), so will soon return to this challenge for my next read.
