The announced June Challenge.
June is around the corner. June is a big milestone for C&B. We started as a group of one, myself. And we have grown so large. But never underestimate the power of ONE.
This month's challenge is the Singular challenge. Read books that have a single word as their title. No more, no less (if that is possible....). Books can be hyphenated, but they still must remain as a single word/title. "A," "The," "If," etc counts as a word. So, no you cannot exclude the "little" words to make up a single!
Happy Reading!

Question?!? We aren't including books that has "The" and "A" as part of the title for example, The Giver would be considered a singular title. Correct?
Glancing through my book stacks I found several books with singular titles. I probably won't read all of them this month but have these to choose from: Dragonwings by Yep; Rascal by North; Inferno by R. M. Allen; and Brazil by Updike. I decided to start with Rex by Joyce Stranger.

Oh, I love this challenge. I have a couple on my to-read shelf that I'm considering: Disneywar by James B. Stewart and Serena by Ron Rash.
Thank you Amber for clarifying! So that means for you, Rachel, "The Giver" would count as two, not one :)
Gotta get creative on this one! Weed out those pesky little Singulars!

I finished my first book. Rex may be a book about the devotion between a boy and his dog but it is not a children's story. I could relate so much to Moira, Johnny's mother. The people living on the Scottish fells were interesting. Now on to Rascal. I think this one is a children's animal story. I may have read it years ago but don't remember.
Let me suggest my book, Rage, book 2 in my AJ Garrison Crime Novels series. The judge orders Garrison to represent/defend a high school student charged with murdering his English teacher. A powerful book.
My final count for the month is four.Wonder by R.J. Palacio 1/6/14
Bliss by Peter Carey 9/6/14
Abhorsen by Garth Nix 11/6/14
Scoop by Evelyn Waugh 28/6/14
