What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I don't remember why the family moved, the exact age of the girl, or the names of any of the characters. She may have been solving some sort of mystery, and there may have been a stone wall that featured in the story. I remember she talked about the new foods she tried, including tabbouleh, which they ate in lettuce cups. They also have a drain in the the floor so they mopped by pouring the soapy water on the floor, then using the mop to push the water to the drain.

I read this book when I was a child, so it had to have been published before 1983. I read it around the time I read The Friend with a Secret by Angela Bull, so the reading level was about the same as that one.

I remember the cover image was a watercolor drawing of a stone wall and flowers, looking over a vista.

I finally got my hands on a copy of the Lillian Hoban book, and it is the right time frame, but that wasn't the book. I think the girl had both parents, and I can't remember if she had siblings or what her parents did.

The other book was published much too late. :) I read it as a kid in the early 80s.
