DC on TV discussion

This is the place for discussing the first Flash series... starring John Wesley Shipp as Barry Allen.

I just started watching this and was pleasantly surprised by the first couple episodes.

I need to rematch this on netflix.
Aside from the pilot and the Trickster episodes, all memory has faded.

I never saw this one, will have to look it up. Maybe before the new Flash starts...

I watched the first two episodes then skipped to the first one with the Trickster... then on to the one with Captain Cold. Overall, this is pretty good.
Mark Hamill as the Trickster was certainly menacing (at least for a TV show)

I also watched the episode with the Mirror Master. It's really cool to see how these villains could be worthy adversaries with their interesting assorted powers...

The 90's Flash was a very well made show and it was a chance that DC took with it. It started with really good reviews, but I believe they changed nights it was on and well if that interferes with schedules then its the death knell for a show.
Mark Hamills take on the Trickster wasn't too bad, I thought he kind of hammed it up a little too much, but the other rogues were good. The costume was pretty close, though it took them a while to tweak it to the comics standards.
But unlike the new Flash costume that everyone is ragging about, its relay grounded in reality. Its what would be required to keep together during high speed friction. I'm ok with it. Plus as the show progresses, they have plans to tweak the costume to bring it more up to comics standards a little at a time.
The way the did Iron mans costume in the first movie,
they will adjust as time goes on and of course how popular the series is.

Got the first couple episodes from netflix.
It's trying a little too hard, but still a lot of fun.

Lots of familiar characters show up and fun to see much younger John Wesley Schipp.

Writing really struggles between wanting to be the Burton Batman and wanting to have fun.

Looking forward to the later super-villain episodes.
