I have no suggestions for you. And I haven't even really looked thoroughly at the list or started to pick books, but I'm guessing finding a book about someone who works at a cats-only boarding facility will be hard for me. :) I'm open to ideas.
There's a folder with posts for different occupations -maybe you can find something close? For animal boarding, Jill Shalvis writes a lot of romances involving people who work with animals (vet, groomer, service dog trainer, etc). The heroine of Animal Magnetism runs an animal boarding facility, but it's not cats-only. But she's got a cat!
I'll go check out the folder. And take a look at Animal Magnetism. I read a mystery this year (or last year) where the protagonist volunteers at an animal shelter and a rescue, so I was thinking something like that.
I feel your pain. I work in credit card collections. I looked for a book set in a call center instead of trying to find someone who had the exact same job.

In the end I decided just to classify a book I read because I wanted to that didn't fit any category. I was satisfied with that choice
This is kind of funny...I just added a book to my tbr shelf about Ted Bundy, who worked as an advocate on an abuse hotline, I believe. I guess that would qualify.....I work at a sexual assault center.

Anyone know of a book about a municipal asset manager? The excitement of analyzing databases, understanding asset risks and delivering services? Working with engineers but not being one?
