Hi Anna, I don't think they do, because when you go to set the giveaway up it only offers if for US and UK. It's extremely difficult to get any giveaways or great deals with any of the Australian booksellers which is a shame. I have tried but as far a I can see Amazon US and UK are only ones that offer these great deals for readers. I think if you're a well-known author a couple of the other booksellers online may do deals. I may be wrong and I will have a look at the Amazon AU on the 1st. I'm going to look into it now you've raised it and see what I can find out. Thanks for raising this topic. Regards Lea Davey

Amazon AU link for the 1st (they quite often price match) - https://www.amazon.com.au/d/ebook/Sha...
Amazon AU is showing Kindle Unlimited as free at the moment for anyone with that.

They price match? That's good news. But how can they do that when only the KCD author can change the price? I've thought I shouldn't mention when I have a Kindle Countdown Deal because it must be awful to know that other places are getting something so much cheaper than you.If I remember rightly, I tried to reduce the price of my books in Aus to match the US and UK and it wouldn't let me. Perhaps Lea might fare better. I really hope you do.
SOMETIMES Anna - in situations such as these they may not, but that's why I put both links so interested people can check both out :)
Thanks, Brenda. Yes, Kindle Unlimited is very popular in the US, not so much in the UK though. I think it's a great idea for those who are avid readers, depends on the monthly price, I suppose.
Thank you, Mark.I'm a fan of Amazon from a customer's pov and a writer's, so I think it will be great to have the mighty 'zon expanding.
I can just picture drones delivering stuff here, there and everywhere, we'll have to start telling the children that Santa has drones not elves and a sleigh. I've done most of my Christmas shopping via Amazon so be warned - they know how to expand not just a little, but a lot.
Hi Brenda, Thanks for the conversation around this topic. My Countdown deal is supposed to start on the 1st December through to the 8th - and it has it listed on my Kindle account as such, so all is set up correctly. The price has remained the same on Amazon both US and AU though, so I have emailed Kindle and informed them and asked them to amend it. Apologies for the fact that as yet is hasn't been discounted, but all I can do is email Amazon and inform them. The joys of publishing and promoting!! Lea

Joy oh joy, I can relate to that. Best of luck!!!

Thanks Lea...and it still isn't down! I'll keep watch on it and wish you luck that they "come to the party" soon!
And good luck with yours Alex!

Hi, Just an update - Kindle Amazon have emailed to say that in fact my countdown for Kindle is running however unfortunately it isn't. For some reason they have the print price on the kindle page and say that the print price has discounted down to the Kindle price. Very confusing I know but I have emailed them again to ask them to fix it. Earlier I did a free 3 days for Kindle and it all went smoothly. Hopefully they will fix it soon - I will keep you informed. Apologies once again. Lea Davey
Further update after a couple more emails back and forth - the latest email from Kindle, who wrote - Thanks for your interest in Kindle Countdown Deals. You can add a Kindle Countdown Deal promotion for a book enrolled in KDP Select, no matter where you’re located. At this time, you can only add the promotion for listings on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.If you’re located in a territory not supported to purchase from Amazon.com, you may not be able to see your Kindle Countdown Deals promotion listed on your book’s detail page, since it is only available to customers who can purchase from Amazon.com.
I have emailed back to say that we can actually purchase from Amazon.com and Amazon.com.au here in Australia so we should be able to see the discount and take advantage of it. It seems a bit strange because we can see and get it when you do a 2/3 day Kindle giveaway. Anyway it appears that only readers in the US and UK can take advantage of countdown deals. There is something new to learn every day! Thanks for the conversation around this and hopefully others might find it helpful. Lea

It's weird alright plus I just received a promotional email from Amazon.com.au about their kindle countdown deals on other books. I have an email back from Amazon re my problem but it is even more confusing and I am going around in circles with the information, saying I do have the countdown deal. I can print it here if anyone is interested let me know, if not - I give up! Lea
Yes, They are claiming it's definitely discounted. I'm going to forget about it and go and read a book. Thanks for your support and confirmation that it isn't discounted here. Lea
I"ve found that a freebie is the best way to go. I set my dates for a book to be free and so far everything has gone acording to plan. My last set up was for Nanyang on November 18, 19 and 20 and it was downloaded by readers in the US, the UK, France and Spain.
Hi Ian, Yes giveaways seem to be accessible wherever you live however I have just had confirmation from Amazon that Countdown Deals are only available to customers in the U.S.Lea
