Rosemarie I joined a while ago, but I just want to say hi. I live in Toronto and enjoy reading books of all kinds. The NCL is a great resource for older Canadian literature.

I am the moderator of this group along with a good friend, Katrina. I set the group up because I wanted to read more Canadian literature. I was born in England and lived there until I was 36 when I moved to Alberta. I consider myself Canadian and felt that it would not only be interesting to read the works of authors of this country but also correct that I should if I wanted to have a part in the growth and prosperity of Canada. It is my desire to promote Canadian Literature through this group and to show others from other nations the wealth of talent here and the variety of people that makes up this great country.
I am a pharmacist by profession and a lifelong avid reader. My first ever introduction to Canada through reading was Susannah of the Mounties and then of course Anne of Green Gables
I look forward to learning and sharing through this group.

Currently there are only 2 moderators of this group but I would like to see at least 1 more. If you are interested please message me. Thanks.

Alan | 1 comments HI I'm Alan and I work in a library in Toronto. I was actually born in Montreal which is where I was first introduced to NCL in high school. I really want to read the entire series from the beginning so I hope to be able to accomplish that one day.

Rosemarie Hi, Alan. Welcome to our group. I live in Toronto(East York) and my older daughter works at the Yorkville Branch of the TPL doing children's programmes.
I started reading the NCL books in high school and have been reading- and enjoying- them for more than 40 years.

Hi Alan, welcome to the group. I am very new to Canadian literature in general but trying to make up for that. I am slowly collecting NCL books along side European Classics. I hope to have a decent library to leave my children. I have been given so much joy in reading and also insight and direction at crucial moments in my life. Reading is one of the few ways humanity has of connection to others through time and space at a very personal level. I had an awesome library and head librarian in the South Yorkshire village I grew up in and she and it changed my life. Librarians are great. Keep up the good work.
