Im about an hour away from the end! So far so good - im actually liking it much more than i thought i would when it started... i love Bones and she's ok, too! I hate the mother !! I wanna stab her - what a bitchhhh....
Plot - a pretty interesting spin on the regular vampire hunter story...
romance - solid! Not erotica, so nothing too explicit...but sexy and cute! Since this is a series , i wonder how this book
Will end... hopefully not on a cliffhanger!
YES - the accent was confusing me to death!! I thought it was an Australian accent the whole time ... afterwards, Bones mentions that he's (partially, somewhat) from Australia, but was born in England ... But the narrative still keeps repeating that his accent is British. THAT WAS NOT A GOOD BRITISH-COCKNEY ACCENT!
how far along are you ?I finished last night ...
Enging: (view spoiler) Hollllyyyyy... ok, rant over :)
I didn't get nearly as far as I wanted. The day has been full of distractions! I was surprised when we got the story of the guy that fucked her over and found out they had been on exactly 3 dates. 3 dates! I thought we were going to get a story about a long term relationship that went wrong or something. But they weren't even in a relationship! Should have held on to her virginity a little longer. Who allows somebody they have only been out with a few times affect their life in such a big way?
Yes!! My thoughts exactly! She keeps talking about this guy as if he broke her heart after they've been together for a while ... 3 dates! And it sounded like he kinda raped her, but she didnt exactly say NO or fight him, even though she mentions numerous times that she is stronger than human males... She kinda gave in and then - "oh after he "deflowered me" he ditched me ".. umm yeah, cuz he wanted in your pants and he got it , after 3 dates... typical teenage horndog...
Finished. Ugh. I hated her mom. She ruined everything with her prejudices. I hated how it ended. I wanted her and Bones together! Poor Bones. I kind of want to jump right into the next book.
Yeah! Her mom does not even come close to redeeming herself! I wanna read the next book , too, but i have tons lined up for December already so i gotta wait! Maybe we can do it next month together?
I'm scrambling to get all my challenge books done before the 19th so next month is probably best. So I'm down if you are. We'll read book 2 of this series and book 4 of Wicked Horse series in Jan.
Cool!Yeah in December i always have tons of leftovers i gotta finish for different challenges.... don't know why i do this to myself hahhaha, reading isn't supposed to be a full time job!!
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!! How was Florida??I got this audio from the library - yayy- so I've signed us up , but I don't see a new thread yet... we can continue here , too - whatever...
Florida was great! We were thinking of trying to squeeze in one more trip before my husband deploys again. Depends on his schedule. I also have the audio ready to go. So whenever you want to start just let me know :)
I went to Miami last year, it was amazing ... went to Orlando and Clearwater a few years back (and Disney!!!) I want to go again but i'm currently expecting (due in 3 months) so i'm not too keen on long flights right now :) Planning a vacay end of summer , when the baby is a few months old and easier to travel with :D
Tomorrow sounds perfect. Florida is a great place. To visit. Not so much to live. Congrats on the upcoming baby! Better you than me. I was done having babies about 2 babies ago. Lol. But my husband really wanted a boy so we kept trying. Of course now I wouldn't trade my littles in for anything!
We did something different this time around than we normally do. Instead of staying with family or crowding our herd into a hotel room we decided to fork over the $$ and rent an actual home. There are so many homes that rent out by the week and it isn't all that much more than what you would pay for a week at a hotel. Except with a house you get... your own fucking house! Own pool, own kitchen to cook instead of eating out, own rooms, kids aren't up your ass. It was marvelous. Family came over every night to swim and eat and just hang out. We had such a good time (aside from my husband's uncle running over the neighbor's mailbox!) we decided to go that route every time we visit Florida.
Bahahahah I died laughing @ kids up your ass and uncle running over the mailbox - classic ... Yes - house sounds amazing! In Miami we did the whole Air b'n'b thing (for the first time, usually we do hotels!) and got a whole condo for the long weekend (which was fine for us, since at that time it was just hubby and I and our 1-year-old) and the building had it's own pool and was located literally across the street from the beach as well ... I loved that there was plenty of space (as opposed to a hotel room!) , as well as a KITCHEN, since I had to keep the baby somewhat fed with things other than milk and restaurant food :) But for a few more people (or parents with more kids!) a whole house sounds amazing! Next time we go, with a toddler and a baby (fingers crossed!) > I would look into something similar ! Although I would totally settle for a condo again ...
I still plan on starting today. Hopefully in a few hours. I still have an hour left of my current audio I have to finish up first.
