Anne Elliot Level- 11-20 Books
No one has posted yet. So, I wish to say welcome to all who strive for this level. We cheer you on and wish you a Happy New Year's Challenge. Go Team Anne Elliot!!
I'm hoping to surpass Anne Elliot in reading but it all depends on my own writing and how much I have going on over at darcyandlizzy.com where I am a moderator. Lots of fun read are waiting for me on my LONG list. Jen Red
Wishing you well on your challenge efforts, Jennifer. Always a balancing act to stay on top of things. :)
I've finished my first book for 2017.
(Trans: A Muslin Christmas)It's a contemporary novella in Italian. Unfortunately, I sensed it was written by two Italian girls even though the main characters were English. Besides it's about everything that irks me of impromptu Janeites, so... And I would have liked another conclusion, because I found this one too obvious and even silly. The heroine pretended to be Emma, so I would have appreciated a Mr. Knightley for her! ;)
Happy that you got your first book toward the challenge done and it was by Italian authors, but sad that it was disappointing.
Congratulations on this one down - but sad it was not up to standards. I also read one yesterday which was disappointing.

Thanks for the encouragement ! ;)
Do you want us adding other JA style / period novels ? and where would you prefer us to post [eg bookshelf or topic] if you do ;) ...
You're welcome to post in either or both places whichever you like.
As to what counts for this group, it's any book you've read that is by Austen, about Austen, about the Regency/Late Georgian Period, JAFF, Austenesque, or (and this is the shady area) any books that have an Austenesque flavor for you.
Hope that helps. :)

writer... wrote: "Do you want us adding other JA style / period novels ? and where would you prefer us to post [eg bookshelf or topic] if you do ;) ..."does this also include books that were printed then, such as charles dickens, wordsworth, byron and so on
You could count books that Jane Austen herself referenced as reading like Samuel Richardson or Regency Gothic writers for instance, but probably not others like Dickens.
Yeah, I'm not going to be a stickler if you read something written classic or contemporary that really feels Austenish. Just go with your gut is how I feel about it. :)
J. W. wrote: "Thanks guys. I've not gone through the levels before and I'm enjoying myself."Wow - you are whipping right along there, Jeanne! Great job. I am a bit behind you, but I promise to be hard at your heels!
Barb, I can hear your foot steps right behind me. No worries... we'll keep each other company. Great job!!
There's number 10 for me:Undone Business: A Pride and Prejudice Novella Variation 3 1/2 round up to 4 stars. A little disappointing as it had so much potential.
Yes, that is disappointing when you can see it could have been better, but still at least it had some good bones to be a 3.5-4 rating.
Barb, #10 completes the Marianne Dashwood Level!!! Woohoo!! You are now moving into the Anne Elliot Level with your next book. The welcome mat it out and we left the light on for you. So, make yourself comfortable.
11. At Darcy House: A Pride and Prejudice Variation solid 4 stars. I really enjoyed this story. The key to the variation was the changes that take place within Jane and Elizabeth due to their living in London and working with the Gardners in their business. Jane is especially a more interesting characters. 4 instead of 5 as there are some things that feel a little contrived. But, I really liked this story.
