What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

*I read this book well over 13 years ago. No idea when it was published. Maybe in the 90's or before hand.

*It's told from Multiple viewpoints. It's about a family that I think live in England or new England. I'm not sure about the time period. I think it was late 1800's or the early 1900's.

*One viewpoint starts with the grandmother when she meets the grandfather on a navel base. I clearly remember she had a huge fur coat that she wore on their first date. I remember the grandfather commenting that it only took her 30 minutes to get ready while it most woman took longer. The grandfather definitely cheated on the grandmother.

*It then went to her kids (or even grandkids). One was a bit of a playboy. His GF found the grandmothers old coat and loved wearing it. They went to a ski lodge... I'm pretty sure the two didn't stay together. The woman ended up being in a relationship with a gentelman who smoked 50 packs a day. She lived with them on some beach (maybe in the Caribbean?) and his daughter that was about the same age as her. They ended up breaking up, but would still see each other

*there was another character. not sure if it was a SO or one of the family, but it was presumed he had epilepsy and couldn't drive or drink.. They later found out he actually didn't have epilepsy.

*I'm the siblings were fighting a bit with each other.

* I think there was one person that had a bunch of kids?
