Is there a place where Classic is defined? Some of the authors I have suggested were just nostalgic to me, due to my own age, but I guess that doesn't necessarily make them Classics.
I did this challenge myself this year. Here is a list of all the Australian Women's authors I tried this year for the first time. It might help you to get started if you take up this challenge. No particular order.The list covers a wide range of genres from Young adult, children, Romance , travel etc

All good Brenda LOL. I tried to find a proper definition for what makes a classic 'a classic' but its not really clear. I think I'm going with my own definition of written more than 30 years ago and extremely popular or highly discussed novel which has become a part of the culture or psyche of a nation or region!I will consider this for 2018 and try to build a list of books written prior to 1988 which fit. In the meantime I am keen to see how everyone fares here.
