Miriam | 113 comments This question might seem a little odd, but the novel is in english, isn't it?

I've seen the single volumes on Amazon.de and often considered buying them, but then I was irritated by the Cyrilic letters on the title.

carol. | 551 comments I think they are all in English first, but he's definitely licensed to other countries--every now and then on his blog he'll share covers of different countries' editions.

Caro the Helmet Lady (caro_helmet_lady) | 46 comments I think it's only because of those Russian witches that occure in the story.

carol. | 551 comments ooh, interesting.

Caro the Helmet Lady (caro_helmet_lady) | 46 comments That cover looks very much Soviet "socialist realism" style btw too.

Fred | 14 comments Just finished rereading this. It fits the overall feel of the RoL works better than Body Work did. Without giving anything away, the whereabouts of the ransom money & Varvara both seem to tie into the larger underlying arc in the novels.

carol. | 551 comments Ugh, my library doesn't have it. I really don't enjoy graphic novels as much as books, but now I might have to buy it.

Fred, what do you mean about overall feel being better than Body Work?

Fred | 14 comments I didn't really care for Body Work. I'm not sure why, but it didn't seem to be a story that fit well in the RoL world. That may just have been Aaronvitch getting used to the style of comics writing vs. novel writing, or the team starting to mesh. I'm enjoying Black Mould, as well.
I don't expect you to run out to get the single issues, but the back matter of the comics has interviews with the artists, editors, etc. that gives a nice perspective on how the series is created.

The CLE area has a large family of libraries, so it's not too bad getting something from one of the interloan programs. There aren't any big double page spreads or unusual panel arrangements, so an ebook would not be bad for these.

Margaret (margyw) | 317 comments Picked up Night Witch on my first day in London. Read it 3 times in one night. I love it.

My foster sister, who knows a little Russian, read it when I got home on Friday. She's 99% positive that Maksim is singing "Hi ho, hi ho it's off to work we go" in the panel where he's going to work in Bev's garden.

carol. | 551 comments Oh, that's priceless. :D I think I'm going to have to buy it, because no one in my library system has it (!?!?)

Margaret (margyw) | 317 comments My library seems to just buy Marvel graphic novels. I have bought Body Work and now Night Witch. Just waiting on the combined version of Black Mould.

carol. | 551 comments I'm going to have to start learning to like graphic novels, apparently:

Lyn (lyn37167) | 20 comments Just ordered this one and Rivers of London: Black Mould from Amazon, kicking it old school with paperback graphics

carol. | 551 comments I bought it too. It's actually my favorite of the graphics.
