The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester

Not my favourite type of science fiction-very violent at times.

Interesting, Rosemarie. As a “Golden Age” novel, I’d have expected misogyny, but not necessarily violence.

This is a space opera - so no character development. Give me Asimov every time!

Just finished! I actually liked this a lot more than Bester’s The Demolished Man. Probably because I was able to recognize elements of The Count of Monte Cristo, a story I’ve loved and reread several times. However, it’s nowhere near as elegant as The Count.
