I have just finished rereading this book, after having read it right after graduating high school in the 70's. This book needs to be read now more than ever-as a warning. Bradbury writes well and creates a frightening dystopic world.
Not sure how come I have never read this before, but I am looking forward to it. Might be a couple of months before I get to it.
This was my first read and yes everyone should read it. Disturbing to read what the world could so easily become.
An amazing book! Before I started reading it I heard that it divides opinion & people either love it or hate it. I loved it. It was so imaginative, but based on reality enough to be believable. Scary!
I thought I had read this book many years ago, but I'm wondering if I don't just remember watching the film. Anyway, I found an audio book of it the other day and I thought it would be something interesting to revisit. I've just gotten through the part where Capt Beatty comes to talk to Montag after they had burned the woman the night before. I thought his explanations of how things came to be the way that they were in this world was pretty fascinating.
The first time I read the book, way back in the 70s, I compared it to the film version and didn't like it.
I read the book last year and loved it and discovered that I want to read more of Bradbury's works. I know that there are different versions of the books were printed, so you may have read a different one.

I am halfway through this book. So far I love it. There are times when I stop to think about what was said. Like the time Beatty told Montag the history. And, like other readers, I am thinking that this could actually happen. Also, I enjoy the way Bradbury writes.
I read this twice, as a young and then much older person. On reread, I found that I had remembered almost nothing about the characters And had retained only mental images of the most striking events. I wonder what I will have retained by the next time around.
