Noah sat figeting with his shoelace as his friend Patrick sat arms on knees watching him."Noah, we're going to be late. You know what they said back home, respect."
"Yeah, well they also said that Australian's are the most laid back country in the world."
Patrick scowled, trying not to smirk back at him. "Still, if they try and give us vegemite toast one more time..."
Right on cue, their host family's mother called out to them. "Boys, breakfast is ready. You don't want to be late for school!"
Patrick looked knowingly at Noah. "See?"
They both politely refused the vegemite toast, preferring jam before packing their bags, brushing their teeth and walking to the train station.
The school was a few stops away and their host brother , Eric showed them the ways of the trains and greeted his friends as they arrived on the carriage with them.
Noah forgot most of their names as they were introduced.
It was so strange to hear such round vowel sounds in the way the Australian accents did.
"G'day," he said, knowing it was apparently a typical greeting.
The boys grinned back at him. "G'day to you too!"
"These are my host brothers Patrick and Noah. They're from Ireland and they're coming to school for two months."
A group of girls got on on the next stop, eyes flashing up to the boys, some calling out greetings and others going to meet apparent boyfriends.
A girl with dark brown hair was texting something on her phone at the station, her earphones in.
He wondered if she was going to get on, seeing as she had a backpack of books on her shoulders.
He tapped the glass of the window in front of him and she looked up startled and jumped on the carriage just as the doors started closing.
((that girl is your charrie. Soz but I kinda placed her in the scene. XD))
(Okay I'm now writing!!!!!! :D :D.. p.s i think this calls for celebratory trans fats... just sayin haha :D) Startled I looked up, and automatically stepped through the carriage doors with a serge of urgency, just before they shut behind me.
I took out my ear phones and scanned the carriage for Annie my best friend or anyone really that I was remotely friendly with. I paused when I saw the ridiculously charming looking guy that had startled me before. Why had he done that? Before I could think to much about it, Annie came up from behind me and gave me a big hug. I was then yanked into the bubble of chit chat and deep life concerning conversations, and the thoughts on this new and mysterious guy sunk into the many thoughts at the back on my mind. That was until I found myself having to sit next to him in English...
((yayayayayayay!!!!!!!!!)) ((also, you have to write in like'she looked up.'
and 'She took out her ear phone'
can you go back and fix it or otherwise just post like that next time. :)
((yes, also talk from now on in double parethesis so we know what's the rp and what isn't. :D))Noah and Patrick followed Eric, their host brother, to his classes and each had chosen another few classes to take as well, being the whole reason for their exchange.
They were all in English and Noah noticed that he was sitting next to the girl who had almost missed the train this morning.
"G'day," he said again, his Irish accent drawing out the 'a' sound so that it sounded like an 'e'. He hadn't heard many other people use that greeting yet, but he'd sworn it was meant to be the Australian equivalent of 'hello.' "Lucky you managed to get on the train. For a moment there I thought it was going to go off without you." He raised an eyebrow to show he was teasing her.
((I can't help it but when I write this I think in an Irish accent! ha ha))
Willow turned around to see the unfamiliar very attractive guy that had hurried her onto the train. "Uh hi." She said with a shy smile, "I haven't seen you before, did you just move here or something?"
As she was looking up from where she had been intensely sharing at her hand, trying not to gaze creepily at the stunning being before her. She caught his eye and for a moment there was this wave of intensity like a silent breathless feeling inside her. Quickly looking away after a second, she wondered if it was only her that had felt that feeling. Strange, overwhelming, unfamiliar but oddly warming in parts of her that she didn't even know existed.
"Yes, I am," he enunciated clearly. "I'm an exchange student from Ireland. I'm living with Eric over there," he gestured, pointing her gaze in the direction of Eric."with my friend Patrick," and with that he tilted his head to the left, where Patrick sat.
Patrick waved at her, happy to be included in conversation. She had looked away for a moment, before looking back at him.
"So, I guess we have English together for the next six months," he added, wanting to keep the conversation going.
