Rashia | 237 comments Johnathan knelt before one of the plants as his hands shifted the soil a little so it covered the roots more. "Perfect." The soil clung to his jeans a little but whatever. His flannel was making him warm but he didn't care. It reminded him of home.

Eve O. Spellman Silver was walking down the path, singing quietly. She didn't know she was at the fields and that a man was there.

Rashia | 237 comments (Sorry, didn't send me a notification for some reason)

Johnathan lifted his head slightly so he could be seen above the planets as he heard something from one of the other rows.

Eve O. Spellman ((Np.))

Silver kept singing quietly.

message 7: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John looked around trying to find the source of the humming till he noticed a girl walking between the rows. "Bonjour, I didn' know anyone else was out here." His voice was quiet as he spoke, his natural accents slipping through.

Eve O. Spellman Silver gave a startled jump as she looked for the voice. She found the boy and gave a small smile. "Hello, me either."

message 9: by Rashia (last edited Apr 23, 2017 12:31PM) (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John smiled softly, hoping not to startle her again. "Cher moi, I forgot' to introduce myself. I'm Johnathan." He was a few rows away, but his legs were just long enough that he could cross over to the one next to where she was without hurting any of the plants. "Pardon, I just didn't want to shout over the rows."

message 10: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver shrugged. "Makes sense. I'm Silver. Are you French?" Silver asked curiously.

message 11: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John beamed. "Oui. I'm originally from a french part of Canada. I tend to slip between the two languages."

((the T thing is just to show his accent, it's like with people from mass not pronouncing r's))

message 12: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman ((Got it.))

"Cool. I plain old American."

message 13: by Rashia (last edited Apr 24, 2017 10:00AM) (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John laughed, running a hand through his hair. "Hey, that's not a bad thing. At least you aren't weird for not being a die hard hockey fan here."

message 14: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "What's wrong with being a hockey fan?"

message 15: by Rashia (last edited Apr 25, 2017 08:39AM) (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Nothing. I'd just rather not be shunned from everything fun for not painting my face team colors and freezing my butt off while my sisters fawn over which guy is the hottest." John shuddered remembered when Taya, his oldest sister, first saw her future husband play.

message 16: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "I can't see why you would get shunned because of cheering for a team." Silver said, crossing her arms.

message 17: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "It's because I dont want to cheer for one, That's the problem." John hoped she understood because now he was getting confused. "Anyway, who's your parent?" He flinched slightly, hoping that didn't sound rude.

message 18: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver, confused, was glad for the change of subject. "Athena. You?"

message 19: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Iris." John beamed. He was proud of his parentage even if some people thought she was just an old hippy lady.

message 20: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "Cool. Goddess of the rainbow right?"

message 21: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Yes. But she's also a messenger goddess and something else I can't remember....I kind of looked her up on the internet when I found out since I wanted to know more about her." John blushed lightly.

message 22: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver smiled. "Makes sense. That's really cool."

message 23: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Yeah, my sister was actually a Mythology nut. I thought it was annoying and then here I am..." John waved at himself with a lopsided grin. "A living, breathing demigod."

message 24: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver chuckled. "I always found Greek mythology interesting. Like a soap opera."

message 25: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Yeah, a really bad one that just repeats the same plot every episode with different characters. Whoops, Zeus did this or Apollo did that."

message 26: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "Yes! Thank you!" Silver said happily.

message 27: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John smiled at her before noticing a few clouds had rolled in. " I don't think the gods think our comparison is funny."

message 28: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver shrugged. "So? It's America. We have a right."

message 29: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "It's also their right to incinerate us on the spot if we insult them too much. Or at least, that's what the campers say. I haven't been here too long." Johnathan shuddered at the thought.

message 30: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver was really tempted to counter argue.

message 31: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "I don't know." He shook his head.

message 32: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "Don't know what?"

message 33: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Well if you think about it, most people could just kill us if they wanted to. But almost all of them don't, so why can the gods? Then again, they are gods and they don't have the same rules as us." Johnathan laughed after a second. "I also didn't know I would be having a...what's the word? Philosophique....Philosophical! I was not expecting to have this type of conversation today."

message 34: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver nodded. They're not gods. There's only one and He ain't Greek.

message 35: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Sorry, not the best conversation to have when you first meet someone, is it?" He blushed lightly as he rubbed the back of his neck.

message 36: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver shrugged. "I honestly don't care. Beats talking about the weather." She said with a laugh.

message 37: by Rashia (last edited May 01, 2017 07:04PM) (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Well it was lovely," he joked.

message 38: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver nodded, smiling.

message 39: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "How long have you been at camp?"

message 40: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "Um, a month I think."

message 41: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Glacé, I've only been here a couple weeks my self."

message 42: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "What does that mean?" Silver asked, wondering what French word he used.

message 43: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John have her a sheepish smile. "I was trying to say cool...it translates to icy."

message 44: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "Really? Interesting."

message 45: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Do you know any other languages? Besides 'Ancient' Greek, because apparently we 'naturally' understand it." John struggled through the language tutoring like everyone else. It sucked.

message 46: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver shook her head. "No, but I want to."

message 47: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "It's easier when you're little and still learning English. But if you do full immersion or just hang out with someone who knows the language and will speak it with you, you pick it up. The writing is harder to learn though."

message 48: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver nodded. "I see. Do you think you could teach me French sometime?"

message 49: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Sure, I'm not the best teacher though. Feel free to fire me at anytime."

message 50: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver laughed. "Beats learning it from a book."
