The Forever War by Joe Haldeman

I just finished this one and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it-the writing, the plot and especially the main character. It was a fun exciting read.

I actually read this in June of 2023, and I agree with you. It was much better than I expected. And it gave me more to think about than expected, too.

I just read the sequel, Forever Free. It’s very different from FW. Then there’s the book he wrote in between called Forever Peace, set in the same universe/period, but with different characters. I’ll give it some time, then give that a read.
