Honestly, it was none of their business, so they should just stay out of it. Ronan had just been walking with Benji, talking and laughing with him. They were having a grand old time—but when weren't they?—just walking and enjoying each other's company until they were bombarded by several of their peers. To put it simply, they were questioned on whether or not they were a thing or not, which angered Ronan a little. Why did it matter if they were a thing or not? And why was that any of their business anyway?
After denying that anything was going on, Ronan proceeded to half-storm and half-walk away from everyone, hoping that Benji was following behind before he entered his favorite greenhouse, which, coincidentally, also happened to be one of Benji and Ronan's favorite meeting places. "Why does everyone in this damn school have to intrude everything like it's their business.."
Ronan's mumble hung in the air while his hands fumbled with the camera around his neck, turning it on and trying to settle himself with the scenery before he did something he would regret. Ronan was usually rather calm, and he hated for anyone to ever see him when he wasn't, but Benji always seemed to see him when he was a bit of a mess. And as much as he wanted that to bother him, it didn't.
It had really been all fine and dandy until other people showed up and started pestering him and Ronan. What was wrong with a simple walk, anyway? But while he was able to brush it off with that thick-skin of his — you don't get homophobic relatives without developing one — he still became a little uncomfortable because he knew it bothered Ronan, and he hated seeing him bothered.
A small, fond smile tugged at the edge of his lips at the sight of Ronan stomping off to the greenhouses. It was a little childish of him, a side of Ronan he didn't get to see much, but if he was caught with a smile, Benji feared he might be seen to not take it seriously. So he willed the smile to go away, and followed Ronan.
"Because they're silly," Benji mused. "Or maybe they don't have a life, so they have to butt into other people's lives to find something interesting to talk about." Right then, a hug would have been too much, and Ronan's fingers were preoccupied with the camera, so he couldn't take his hand. Instead, Benji opted to gently lean into Ronan's side, head resting ever the slightest on Ronan's shoulder. "Don't mind them. They're not worth worrying over."
