Katie Bean | 12 comments The ultimate sacrifice Ivy could make for both bishop and her father was herself. The time was getting close for her to kill Bishop but she knew she couldn’t do it. They both were in love with each other and there was no way for her to kill him. Once she received the poison she hid it under the bathroom sink, then wrote an anonymous note for Victoria (a worker for the president) to find. That night guards searched Ivy and Bishop’s apartment and found the poison. Ivy turned herself in so Bishop could live and be safe from her father. The only problem is Bishop didn’t believe her. On page 262 Bishop tells Ivy,” I know you weren't going to poison me. So why are you taking the blame?” Little does Bishop know she is doing it to save him not hurt him. It reminded me a a Romeo and Juliet kind of love story. The next day she pleads guilty in court and is sentenced to be put out. But then right after she tells her plea she is knocked out and put out unconscious with only some extra clothes to help her survive. Ivy thought that her plan was good until that moment when you realized she is on her own, with no one there to help her. She told herself,” There are only two choices. Stay here and die. Or get up and see what happens next.” Love can make you do some crazy things. I think what gave Ivy half the strength to make her do this plan was knowing that Bishop would do the same if he was in her shoes. The author ended this book with Ivy having the Brave mind set that she will survive the other side of the fence, but was is there to come after that?

Devin Hampton | 12 comments This seems like the typical love story ending honestly. Every love story always seems like there is always something wrong so they try to fix it and love each other, but then some sacrifice has to be made by one of the people and it seems like it totally fits that story line, but seems like it has been written more interesting than that.
