Her house is a simple modified farmhouse: it has three stories, so there's enough room for her and her friends. Out back of course is their farm, and the house has solar power and uses irrigated rainwater for drinking, bathing, and watering the plants and animals. Inside it's very traditional and resembles a home from the Colonial-era of America. Most people would say she doesn't live in style, but she thinks she does, she loves her home.

"Here we are!" Kate smiled, leading Scarlett inside her house. It was very roomy and smelled of a flower garden. "I share this house with two of my friends, but they're out for the day and won't come back until later, so we have the whole place to ourselves,"

"It's pretty, isolated fro everyone, Seems cool" She looked up at the house with the massive farm.She looked around and whispered"Where should we start"

"I think here would be good," She led Scarlett to her living room and sat down on the couch, surrounded by potted plants. A large tree branch hung down on their heads. "Did you by any chance bring that letter?"

"ive never left it, she opened her locket and took out a little paper but the picture of her mother fell out.She scrambled after the picture

Kate noticed the picture and picked it up before her, looking at it. "Is this your mother? She's pretty," She handed the picture back to Scarlett. "I never knew my mother....Father told me she was a huge daredevil though and loved pushing her courage to the max. I suppose that's how she died, but Father never told me much about her,"

"Yeaa she was pretty,Last time I saw her she was ripped apart, shot to death.At least you don't live with the burden knowing you could have saved her if I was brave enough,thats why if i find X ill be closer"She plastered a smile on her face and put the photo back inside,

She found a letter in the burned ruins of her house stating:

Dear Malcolm
I will protect your family; You will have to do what is required of you and do not fear we will always be behind. The document “Forbidden vow “must be saved from getting in the wrong hands. The people will eventually come and know of our plans. We are all-trusting in you. The strongest of us all

She stuffed the paper into kate s hands

"So Malcolm must've been your father," She said out-loud, starting to think, even though she wasn't the brightest. "I still don't know who X is...." She continued to think.

"I don't know, he must be someone close to my father, he must have looked up to my father, but I don't know anyone called x, however on the last week, my dad started to change...."She mumbled out loud, staring at her black converses, She straightened up her leather jacket and brushed herself down thoughtlessly.She remember back to the last week, mysterious people came to the house, they were ushered out of the house to play so their dad could talk.

"Like I said, maybe it's one of his close friends. I don't really know very much about your family, so you have to help me with this," Kate explained.

((She can help Scarlett find out who killed her family while also secretly plotting Dauntless' downfall))

"Umm Can i tell you something, I think it's linked to x" She said staring once again at her black converse.She looked up and stared kate in the eye wondering if se could trust her.They had more fights that she had all year with any dauntless creeps.They're all scared of her she chuckled at that,

"What is it?" Kate asked in a curious tone, staring back at Scarlett. Normally she would never help anyone from Dauntless, but her sheer desperation made her rethink things. She couldn't just leave her to suffer, that wouldn't be right now would it?

"Im a divergent, when I took the test I became Erudite, Dauntless,Having you seen how different I am from normal braindead Dauntless, I have intelligence which made me second in command.My dad said if people knew about if ill be hunted down and experimented on many that's why the problem started.My dad was against all these e Divergent experiments,I remember him shouting about it to mum and some of his friends"She smirked and thought about how stupid she is to have told a girl she just met only for a day all about everything,She is dumb,

Kate gasped and looked around the room, then leaned in slightly. "You're Divergent too? I am too! I tested for both Amity and Abnegation, but they told me to never say anything. I chose Amity since I thought I'd fit in better here," She explained in a low voice, Scarlett being the first person she's ever told this to.

"Ive never met another Divergent, Wicked"She whispered and breathed out in relief .At least I'm not the only one she thought.She laughed and whispered"I thought you'll rat me out" She whispered giggling

"Of course I won't, but in return, you can't rat out on me," Kate warned. "I don't want to get in trouble. I don't know what they do to Divergents, but it can't be anything good,"

"Its not good,torture and experimentation"She remembered what her father told her when she was young.She remembered how scared he looked when he said that.

She instantly shivered. "Then let's not rat each other out. I'm trying to help you, remember,"

"I wouldn't not for anything well for some oranges maybe"She said with a hint of smile seeing Kates stunned face she laughed and said"im just joking"She giggled

"Well Amity oranges are very good!" She teased. "Although my favorite fruits are strawberries,"
