Here is my list for the easy challenge. Definitely subject to change :) Fitting each book to the actual month is going to be tricky trying to match up with with my other gazillion challenges. Lets see how we go
Books that start with j are less common than you would think actually. But they are out there Zoey:)
And you can always change a choice later if you find it doesn't fit with other challenges etc. It's just nice to have all our selections up so we can see what other people are choosing. Sometimes it helps!

I lose track of my challenges all the time Jane because I do too many. It's a bit like an addiction but at least it's not bad for your health.

If I didn't have my trusty notebook with every challenge written up in full - and highlighted - crossed out when finished - I'd be extremely lost Jane :)

Ha, Brenda, I'm exactly the same. I diligently track my reading in the notebook, highlighter for the star rating I allocate, big fluoro cross outs when I've finished (for that sense of achievement!)...
Haha! Yes! Fluro green crossed through the page works well! Makes it easy to see there are no more to read for that one!

Oh Mary - let me check :)
Oh Mary - let me check :)
Jewel of the Kimberley by Erin Moira O'Hara (Romantic Suspense - high on the suspense) (it's the third in the series and character growth is the only thing as each is a different story)
Jasper Jones by Craig Silvey is another.

I'm opting to do the EASY level. Hmm, hardest part of this exercise for me was finding sufficient appealing books beginning with J. I'd love to swap out one of the choices for a good J book written by an Australian author. However, here's my tentative list:Annual Challenge 01/01/17 - 31/12/17

I've read Jasper Jones, one of my all time faves! Will definitely check out Jewel of the Kimberley, one of my best-loved areas of Australia.
The author lives about 15 minutes from me Mary, and is a lovely person. I've spent time with her on numerous occasions :) I've really enjoyed the first two of the series as well...

LOL...LOL! Checking out this list you've given me, thanks Brenda. Very useful. Got the giggles - which of our fellow readers was just saying (on a different thread I suspect) she was keen to find some good books from the 1970s and 80s? High on this list I espied Jaws by Peter Benchley, now THAT was a real thriller, published 1974!
Yes I saw that one :) I still own it!! It's Michelle Mck in her personal thread in the AR group :) I think she was starting in 1977 though.
Phrynne wrote: "Li'l Owl wrote: "Is there a certain number that need to be Aussie authors?"Not in this challenge :)"
That makes things a little bit easier. Once I get my list for this challenge, I'd better get offline and start some serious reading! =o)
Brenda wrote: "Yes I saw that one :) I still own it!! It's Michelle Mck in her personal thread in the AR group :) I think she was starting in 1977 though."Ah, yes, the year of her birth, if I recall correctly.

The Rules!
1. Easy Challenge (12 books) Choose a book for each month of the year with a title that starts with the same letter as the month.
e.g. January. Justice for Sara
February. Forty Words for Sorrow
March. Mistake Creek
2. Hard Challenge. (24 books) Do the same as above PLUS choose a book for each month where the first letter of the author's Christian or surname is the same as the month.
e.g. January. James Patterson
February. Nicci French
March. Michael Connelly
3. All books should be read in their appropriate month, so this challenge will take all of us the full twelve months:).
4. All books must be from our genres of crime/mystery/thriller/ suspense.
5. You can choose to count 'a' 'an' and 'the' or you can ignore them when picking your titles.
6. Choose your level, choose your books and then list and link your choices in this thread.
