Goodreads Sci-Fi/Fantasy Authors discussion

What if, by magic if you like, an SUV suddenly materialized in outer space, near the moon. If it stays there for less than half and hour, what would happen to the components?

Apparently the tires would be OK as per a discussion of the Space Shuttle tires.

What about gas tank, batteries, windows, plastic bumpers, etc.?

apparently someone launched a Tesla in space. Perhaps they have information about what happened after the launch.

That scene is part of my last book, Perturbations Of The Reality Field. I assumed it was one of the least plausible parts of my story, until Musk launched the Spaceman. How do you write sci-fi when your dreams come true before the ink dries! :-)

I sent a copy of the book to SpaceX. Haven't had a reply yet though.
