I have recently been studying love and have come to this conclusion and wanted to share it so here: People think love is physical attraction. They think that you're in love when you get butterflies in your stomach, or that love is when that special person makes you feel over the moon. I'm going to tell you right now, that is not love. Love is not and never will be sex, a 50/50 proposition, or that feeling you get when that cute guy walks past. First of all, love is not a business deal,and if it is you don't give only 50%. You give 100%. Every. Single. Day. People make mistakes and some days 100% just ain't happening. That's ok, if they love you, they'll realize that you're only human. Love is not a mere feeling. Love is a magic. It makes you do things you would never otherwise do. I'm not talking about crazy stupid YOLO things. I'm talking about when you come home and all you want to do is go to bed, but you unload the dishwasher because you know that person you love will be tired too and appreciate that you did that for them. Love is when you watch baseball on TV even though you're bored out of your mind but you dwatxh it anyway. Because you love that baseball makes that person you care so much about happy. Love is not selfish. When you truly love someone you are not the reciever. You are the giver. You give 110% because that person means more to you than you mean to yourself. Maybe, that person doesn't notice you did the laundry, perhaps they didn't mention that they were grateful you swept the floor. Why would you still do the things you do for them? Because you love them. Love is your heart in sync with theirs, beating to the same rhythm. It is so very hard to get it into that rhythm, I know it is! So why do we try? Because you love them. Love is never selfish, it is never about you, it is always about others. Real love never fails.
