I think I'll try to get this one...it sounds good. Plus, there's just something about reading winter horror when there's snow outside!
I am going to be in on this one too. I went ahead and bought it off of amazon. It sounds really good! It seems I might have found a new horror author as he has other books I want to read. I will be ready.

Sweet! I went ahead and just got it off Amazon so I can join in! So, whenever we discuss this book in Jan, we are to come HERE, to THIS thread at all times? -Jen from Quebec :0)
Also, just want to say that I am enjoying the fact that this looks to be Canadian Historical Fiction as well!

Has anyone started reading yet?

60% in and thoroughly enjoying this one. For this being Moreland's debut, it just goes to show you how good of a writer he is. I've read many an author that's best work doesn't hold a candle to this. I've also read his novellas Darkness Rising, The Vagrants, and The Witching House. All of which were excellent. I haven't read his Shadows in the Mist, but I hear that one is one of his best. Has anyone else read it?

I think that my problem was that it was primary about the horrors of war, and I went in expecting a "supernatural" novel the entire way through... The Devil's Woods was probably the first I'd read from him--superb!
Finished this one tonight and absolutely loved it. It's even more impressive when you consider that this was Moreland's debut. I loved the blending of The Exorcist influences with Native American manitou folklore.

I have The Devil's Woods, but haven't read it yet. I've loved everything I've read of his. Not a clunker in the bunch.

I'm a little late to the party but as I've already read The Exorcist (the February selection) some years ago (and don't want to read it again), I think I'll read this one instead.
