A. Claire Everward (aclaire_everward) | 6 comments Hi there,
Just joined the group and looking forward to participating in the discussions as a reader. I'm also an author and have just launched my second book. Here it is, hope you enjoy it and would love a review.
Oracle's Hunt by A. Claire Everward

Blurb:
A security-critical facility is destroyed to get to it and it is called Oracle.

That's all USFID investigator Donovan Pierce knows. And while he is told to find whoever perpetrated the deadly attack, and find them fast, he is also warned not to look for Oracle itself.
Lara Holsworth never expected Oracle to be in any danger. She would like nothing more than to keep it secret and Pierce away from it—and from her, but hiding is no longer an option.
With those who now know too much more determined than ever to destroy Oracle, will its protectors' cooperation be enough to keep it safe?

A. Claire Everward (aclaire_everward) | 6 comments Hi Ann and Carol :) thanks for the warm welcome! I'm sorry that only the A. appears on my profile. How annoying. My name is actually A. Claire Everward. I go by Claire. I really need to fix this A. thing :)

message 9: by Carol/Bonadie (new)

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9528 comments That is annoying! Will try to remember, but you might want to sign your posts Claire until you can fix it. Unless you don't mind A., LOL!

David Patneaude | 15 comments Hi, I'm Dave. I notice that nobody has posted for a year, but I'm hoping someone is still looking at this folder. If not, I guess I'll be talking to myself, which isn't that unusual. Anyway, I'm a YA author with a book called Fast Backward that launched June 1. It's an alternative history (World War II era) story, but it has elements of mystery and suspense, so I believe it has a place here. A synopsis:

FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD BOBBY HASTINGS witnesses an
atomic explosion near a top secret New Mexico army base in
July of 1945. Terrified, he soon heads off on his bike for home,
only to encounter something that rivals the blast for drama. A
girl his age stands naked at the side of the lonely desert road:
underweight, unwell, and speaking with a German accent. In
the coming days, she unveils an impossible story about time
travel and a heartbreaking outcome of the war. She begs people
to believe her warning and prevent the awful future she claims
to know too well. But even if they do believe her, and the story
is true, the biggest question remains: can history be undone?

And two of several positive reviews:

“Past, present, and future collide in David Patneaude's soaring new novel of courage set at the dawn of the Atomic Age. One early morning in rural New Mexico, a pedaling paperboy named Bobby encounters a lost girl named Cocoa, and his fate--and the world's--are changed forever. Patneaude peels back the layers of history to glimpse the future--but is it bright or dark? A superb, enduring book, with lots of timely reverb.”—Conrad Wesselhoeft, former New York Times writer and author of the acclaimed novels Adios Nirvana and Dirt Bikes, Drones, and Other Ways to Fly (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt)

Says Carl Deuker, award-winning author of Heart of a Champion, Swagger, and Gutless: "David Patneaude’s frightening ‘What if?’ alternative history will have young readers turning pages to find out what happens next and also turning to history books to educate themselves about the horrors of World War II. What an accomplishment!”

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9528 comments Hi David,

We do indeed see everything posted. The reason no one has posted here for awhile is that originally this particular folder which is labelled Folder Business was meant for general instructions about the purpose. If you look at the top level folder, Author Promotions and Events, you will see more recent posts from authors.

Anyway, thanks for paying attention to where to post! We appreciate it.
