Deep Blue discussion

For anyone who is into word meanings and how they add something to a story or character, Abaddon is a Hebrew word that is translated into English as "Death and Destruction". How fitting! I found it cool to realize, Donnelly didn't make that up or choose it randomly - or if she did choose it randomly, that's an amazing coincidence - she actually chose a name that gave depth to her character and fit it perfectly! I wonder if there is more meaning in the mermaid's and mermen's names? ;)
