Quotes ~~ 2017
Gladstone's is a good quote. I can't tell you how many times i visit an historical museum (president's home or classroom sorts) and smile as i look at the books on the shelves. They bring back many of having read them or hearing about them...or even thinking of little Jimmy Carter reading it. For the last 40+ hours i've had trouble getting the threads to stay here, when i did, it ate my posts. At this point today i've posted 6 or 7 times, so i think the problem is resolved. I hope so, as i'm quite behind.
I guess it's a sign that i've been on Facebook too much this week, i tried to "Like" the Mandela quote!

I try to do this, too, Julie.
Same here. I know that when someone compliments me, i walk away smiling and inclined to share the joy. Although i'm trying to remember if i think to do this toward men. Surely i do, right?
There are thousands of quotes I've read that give me a sense of purpose. But I love these:1. "Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."
2. "We spend our youth chasing wealth, and our wealth chasing youth."
3. "Long term consistency trumps short term intensity."
Excellent quotes, Tanima ! Thanks for sharing. The first one reminds me of Gandhi's words.
"Be the change you want to see."
I'll say! The Razor's Edge is my favorite by him, although i've enjoyed others. His short stories can be very good, too.
Good plan. And make it a thick book, so it appears we were planning to live much, much longer. Heck, we probably don't even have to be actually reading it, just leave it in a comfy reading spot. :-)

It reminds me of a quote from FDR's first inaugural address."The only thing we have to fear is fear itself"

Love this one. Thanks for sharing.

The visual was awful to witness, wasn't it. Thanks for the reminder. This week also marked the anniversary of the deaths of astronauts Gus Grissom, Ed White and Roger Chaffee who died in a fire during a pre-flight test in 1967.

“There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called Yesterday and the other is called Tomorrow. Today is the right day to Love, Believe, Do and mostly Live.”~ His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
Good thought, although difficult to keep in perspective sometimes.
Sometimes i feel exactly like that Georgia O'Keefe quote. Well, maybe not terrified but nervous, timid, a tad more calm than her quote. Still!
