I read Storm Siren by Mary Weber which is about Nymia, a female Elemental (she can make it storm just by using her mind/body) who shouldn't have been able to be born. Once her powers are discovered she is whisked away from her life as a slave and trained to fight in a war that she is still on the fence about.

I had a few issues with it, but I want to continue on with the trilogy and am planning to read book 2 for one of the categories here. I even think it's this one!
My actual pick for this was
by Cassandra Clare, the 5th installment in the Mortal Instruments series. I'm finally catching up with the Shadowhunters world! This book was kind of a disappointment for me after being so engrossed in the last book. IDK, I don't like Clary & Jace's relationship much (or the actual characters) and this book was them making out a lot, Clary being reckless, and the whole plot was basically a set up for the showdown in City of Heavenly Fire. BUT, there were some amazing character development with the secondary characters, so that made up for a lot of my other issues with the book. I gave it a 3 stars.
