Slap a gear on it! Lots of fun possibilities in this genre.

Stephanie C (the_book_lady) Alright, well apparently Jules Verne qualifies for this category because he uses steam engines in his writing. I finished "Journey to the Center of the Earth" - not much of a fan because of Verne's very technical, dry writing. But his imagination is phenomenal.

I really enjoyed this! Set in Victorian London, with a twist.

Thomas Hillring (dakkster) Cherie Priest writes some interesting steampunk books.

I was just going to recommend her books!

Hannah I read Ticker by Lisa Mantchev which is about young Penny who has a clockwork heart. There's a little light romance involved but I love Steampunk because the various inventions of the authors who write in this genre always fascinate me and Lisa Mantchev does not disappoint.

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) The Girl in the Steel Corset (Steampunk Chronicles, #1) by Kady Cross Such a disappointment. The writing was not engaging and the characters actions were confusing. The plot seemed interesting, but it failed to capture my attention in the end. Too many cliches, the plot twists were too predictable. There were a few interesting characters that I wanted to know more about, but I'm not invested enough to continue on.
