I don't know about a dream cast, but I know that I would love to play Kyrin. I don't know if I'm any good at acting, but when I really love a character I want to play them in a movie, and Kyrin made me feel that way.
Well one person that I would consider for Jace is Danila Kozlovsky do I think he is perfect? No he is too old. Is he the hottest guy out there? No. But he plays sad, lonely and moody really well. He has sad eyes and is good looking. Too bad Orlando Bloom wasn't a few years younger, he would be a good one as well. His face can look like granite or super sad but then when he smiles it's such a nice sweet smile. Not too mention he's super cute.
That's really cool, Morgan. :) You'd probably be better at me. I'm pretty sure I can't act at all. :P
Jen, funny you should mention Orlando Bloom. The way he played Balian at the beginning of Kingdom of Heaven has always reminded me of Jace. And he is cute, haha! Yes, I was one of the crazy Orli fangirls in my teens. :D

I may still be a crazy fan...lol my husband thinks I am funny.... :)I have to agree with Morgan, Kyrin would be a wonderful character to play.
I've actually acted out quite a bit of Ilyon Chronicles alone in my bedroom. It was tremendous fun. Only a few books make it to that status. :)
Yeah, Orlando Bloom's character in Kingdom of Heaven would be a good start towards Jace's character. You know he still looks really young, he might still work. :D
Morgan, I don't think I've ever had anyone do that with one of my books before. :D That's awesome.
Jen, he ages VERY well. And I just have to add that he has the most amazing brown eyes. That's why half my male characters in my previous books had brown eyes. ;)

Nice Jaye, nice.... :) Your right his eyes are amazing... he's just all around great. So whenever I read brown eyes in your books I should picture him?? lol I can do that.
I'm with Morgan, even though I'm so much younger than Kyrin, I liked to imagine myself playing her :) I love the idea of acting it out though. It would be fun to do it together with friends :)
I always think of Kaden as Liam Hemsworth, due to the Ilyon Chronicles Pinterest board. Anyone else wouldn't really look right.
He is so much Kaden in my mind that now, whenever I see anything from The Hunger Games, my immediate reaction is "Kaden!" not Gale, haha.
We have trouble watching scenes with Gale because whenever we see him, we think of lines from the Bad Lip Reading of The Hunger Games and have a hard time not laughing. But I do sort of have a hard time calling him Gale and not Kaden.
Lol! You should have heard me and my cousins talk about Orlando 8-10 years ago.
I have heard of that movie studio, and I am interested in Beyond the Mask. I sure wish there were more Christian movie studios.

Just dropping in here, :) This is a fantastic conversation!! Its always fun to imagine what actors/actresses would best play your characters, right? :) :)I don't know much about many actors and such; but yeah, the guy you had as Kaden on your pinterest board... whenever I see a pic of him, I'm like, "oh, there's Kaden." :D
And I would agree with Morgan, :) Although I'm sure I'd make a terrible actress, :p, when I REALLY like a book, I imagine myself playing in the movie. ...Just a wish to better loose yourself in the story, I guess! Haha.
Oh, and I'm so excited for Beyond the Mask!
How big of budget productions can they do? Resistance would have to be pretty big to be done right. I think that's probably why there are so many good Christian adventure stories that aren't movies that would be great. The companies that have the money and resources to do them right wouldn't and the companies that would do them right don't have the money and resources.Sounds like a mission. :)
I'm not sure I want to know how much money was spent on The Hobbit. I would probably freak out. A well done series of Ilyon Chronicles movies would be the most amazing thing I've seen, and it would be even cooler to be involved in making it. We need movies like that.
I don't think I even have to say how I'd feel about Ilyon Chronicles movies. ;) But yes, I do desperately wish Christian companies had bigger budgets.
Well, you were the one who started the thread. :) Ilyon movies would be super cool. I also wish Christian companies had bigger budgets. It would make entertainment SO much better.
I like the movie idea ;) If only it was easier, like all of you have been saying, to just do something like that. It is such a long and money consuming process. :p
I know. Maybe someday I'll be able to realize my childhood dream of making movies that are like the books, but it's SO expensive.
This thread seems to have died but...I agree that Liam Hemsworth and Kaden look a lot alike. Only I think he looks like Kaden will look in five years or something since Kaden is sort of young in my head.
Also, Jaye, it's because of your Ilyon Chronicles Pinterest board that I read Resistance at all. The summery you had on your board was SO much more interesting to me then the one on the back of the book so when I was poking on your Pinterest I was like "this actually looks awesome" so it ended up on my Birthday wishlist and here I am. :D I LOVE YOUR PINTEREST.
Everytime I see a picture of Liam I just squeal, "Kaden!" I can't think of him being anything different now. xP
Oh my goodness, Pinterest is one of my favorite writing tools. I love that others love my boards as much as I do. ^_^
Katie wrote: "Everytime I see a picture of Liam I just squeal, "Kaden!" I can't think of him being anything different now. xP"Liam Hemsworth as Kaden...*shudders*
I've only seen him in The Hunger Games movies, but I thought he was pretty good. He's what I think if for Gale.
Lol, I'm used to people not sharing my vision for Kaden. My brothers constantly rip on Liam Hemsworth. :P
I have started my own list for this, most likely because I want to be a movie director someday. *grins* What I have come up with so far is Lindsay Wagner for Kalli and Viggo Mortenson as Rayad.
Viggo Mortenson as Rayad. :O Totally!Hmm. . .I don't remember who played Murtagh in the Eragon movie but he'd be an okay Jace, only his voice is a little extreme.
Ha, of course, like every girl on here, I have dreamed of playing Kyrin in the movie. I think Russel Crowe as William Altair would be amazing! The emotion that man can convey in his eyes is just uncanny! Jonas Armstrong as Trask, obviously, and it sure would be nice to get Lucy Griffiths to play Anne. It would almost be like we actually got to see Robin and Marian be together.
I've seen the Pinterest board and the blog, I know Henry Cavill was set up as Daniel, but honestly, I could see him as Jace too. He has the knock-you-dead blue eyes, and he could pull off the long hair-look gorgeously. I could see him being able to put in that depth of emotion necessary for Jace as well.
Yes, I agree with Liam Hemsworth for Kaden, I can't think of anyone for Kyrin at the moment.
Ilyon would make an epic movie series.
I think Jeff Bridges would be amazing as Rayad (though he might be too old).Sophie Turner as Anne.
Garrett Hedlund as Trask.
Josh Hutcherson as Kaden.
Elle Fanning or Hailee Steinfeld as Kyrin.
For Jace it's hard. I think Lee Pace, Orlando Bloom, and Luke Evans would do well... but they are bit older than Jace.
Lana Parilla (actor in Once Upon A Time) as Davira.
Jeff Bridges might be a good Rayad. I don't think he'd be too old. In The Giver, he was kind of old, but not too much for Rayad. I honestly can't see anyone except Liam Hemsworth for Kaden. Lana Parilla could probably pull off Davira, though I think she's a bit too old, but thanks to the Ilyon Chronicles group board on Pinterest, I can't think of anyone except Katie McGrath for her.
I would LOVE to be an actress (not even a main one) in a movie! Must I be an actress? I always imagine myself acting in my favorite series' future movies (yes, Ilyon Chronicles is one of my favorite book series!). Exciting thoughts! I would love to see this series as a movie series such as Narnia or Harry Potter (also as popular)! :D
*David Tennant voice* Oh, yes! Ilyon would be a fantastic movie series. I think it could be as popular or more, with someone good marketing. Dibs on playing Kyrin!
*laughs* I totally heard that entire thing in David Tennant's voice. It would be so fun to play Kyrin, though I look nothing like her.
